We are on the cusp of another Big Three wedding finale extravaganza. That means it’s time for the bachelor and bachelorette parties!
This Is Us Season 5 Episode 15, “Jerry 2.0,” is very much a celebration of Kevin and Madison’s impending nuptials. However, the real focus isn’t on them at all.
Sophie may not be physically present for the festivities, but her presence is felt at every turn.
Kevin’s ex-wife is there for the group date flashbacks at the cabin, she’s on the phone with Kevin as he prepares for his bachelor party, and she’s still on his mind as he second-guesses his marriage proposal.
It’s unclear if the series is setting up for a choice between Madison and Sophie, or if Sophie and Zoe’s recent talks with Kevin will unearth bigger questions for the actor about his career.
Kevin Pearson hasn’t had the easiest road to redemption, but he has managed to grow immensely as a person over the seasons and bring a likability to the character we can root for. So, This Is Us will need to tread carefully with this crossroads or it won’t matter who Kevin chooses, he will still lose us.
Regardless, it seems the mere mention of Sophie’s name has planted seeds of doubt in Kevin’s head about his big day, and it’s anyone’s guess if the wedding will still happen as planned.
This episode’s not all life-changing decisions and heartbreak, however. The bachelor party gives us an excuse to watch Kevin and the rest of the Pearson men get together for some log cabin shenanigans and bonfire group hangs.
With Miguel, Nicky, Kevin, and Randall under the same roof, there is no shortage of drama to immerse ourselves in.
