This is Us Officially Ending With Season 6
It’s the end of the road for the Pearsons. NBC has announced that This is Us will end with Season 6, per The Hollywood Reporter.
This is Us follows the Pearsons across various time periods as they deal with loss, love, and family tension.
The Emmy nominated series has competed in the Best Drama Series category three times, a rarity for broadcast shows. Sterling K. Brown has won once for Lead Actor in Drama Series.

TVLine reports that This is Us is averaging 5.6 million total viewers, fifth among NBC shows, coming in behind the One Chicago lineup and The Voice.
When the show was renewed for three seasons in 2019, many speculated that Season 6 would be the end. In an April 2019 interview with THR, creator Dan Fogelman said this was never going to be a long-running series.
“We never set out to make a television series that was going to last 18 seasons, so we have a very direct plan. I have script pages I have written and I’m writing that really are deep, deep, deep into the future. We have a plan for what we’re going to do, and I know what the plan is,” said Fogelman.

This season, the show has tackled the pandemic, Black Lives Matter protests and their effect on Randall, Rebecca’s Alzheimer’s, and Kevin and Randall’s emotional reconciliation after years of racial tension in their relationship.
The Season 5 finale is set to focus on Kevin and Madison’s wedding.
