What to Watch on TV: Screen Actors Guild Awards, Wynonna Earp, Kung Fu
Welcome to a new week and another round of What to Watch on TV for the week of April 4th! We’ll be sharing our picks for what to watch this week, from marathons to big guest spots, and significant episodes of TV to look forward to while stuck inside.
This week’s picks include the 27th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, a farewell to Wynonna Earp, and more.

Atlantic Crossing – Sunday, April 4

The latest Masterpiece series follows the story of Norwegian royals fleeing their country in the face of a Nazi invasion, seeking protection from President Franklin Roosevelt. Atlantic Crossing debuts Sunday, April 4 at 9/8c on PBS.
Episode Description: Norwegian Crown Princess Martha and her husband Prince Olav visit U.S. President Franklin Roosevelt in 1939. A year later they must flee the Nazi invasion of their country.
27th Screen Actors Guild Awards – Sunday, April 4
After being delayed, the 27th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards is set to air a modified version of the event. Among the nominees are I May Destroy You, The Mandolorian, Bridgerton, The Queen’s Gambit, and more. The Screen Actors Guild Awards airs Sunday, April 4 at 9/8c on TNT and TBS.
Hemingway – Monday, April 5

Ken Burns chronicles the life and times and writing of famous American author, Ernest Hemingway, from his time during World War I and on, over a 6-hour, 3-night series. Hemingway debuts Monday, April 5 at 8/7c on PBS.
Episode Description: Hemingway, yearning for adventure, volunteers for the Red Cross during World War I. He marries Hadley Richardson and moves to Paris, publishes The Sun Also Rises and finds critical and commercial success with his second novel, A Farewell to Arms.
Kung Fu – Wednesday, April 7
When dealing with a quarter-life crisis, Nicky Shen decides it’s time for a major life change, leaving behind her entire life. But when she returns home to San Francisco, things are vastly different and overrun by crime. It’s then that Nicky finds that she has to take a stand. Kung Fu debuts Wednesday, April 7 at 8/7c on The CW.
Episode Description: A quarter-life crisis causes a young Chinese American woman, Nicky Shen (Olivia Liang), to drop out of college and go on a life-changing journey to an isolated monastery in China. But when she returns to San Francisco, she finds her hometown is overrun with crime and corruption and her own parents Jin (Tzi Ma) and Mei-Li (Kheng Hua Tan) are at the mercy of a powerful Triad. Nicky will rely on her tech-savvy sister Althea (Shannon Dang) and Althea’s fiancé Dennis (Tony Chung), pre-med brother Ryan (Jon Prasida), Assistant District Attorney and ex-boyfriend Evan (Gavin Stenhouse) and new love interest Henry (Eddie Liu) as well as her martial arts skills and Shaolin values to protect her community and bring criminals to justice…all while searching for the ruthless assassin who killed her Shaolin mentor Pei-Ling (Vanessa Kai) and is now targeting her.
Queen of the South – Wednesday, April 7

The beginning of the end for Teresa and company as the final season kicks off, and the stakes have never been higher. How will things end for everyone? Queen of the South returns Wednesday, April 7 at 10/9c on USA Network.
Episode Description: Teresa sets out to expand her business in New York City while James proves his allegiance to Teresa.
Everything’s Gonna Be Okay – Thursday, April 8

Nicholas, Matilda, Genevieve, and company are back and ready to deal with new issues, from love to everyday life. Everything’s Gonna Be Okay returns Thursday, April 8 with back-to-back episodes at 10/9c on Freeform.
Episode Description: Alone again, the family tries to get through the day but they’re all bored; Matilda is in a dark place; Genevieve trespasses digitally.
Doing the Most with Phoebe Robinson – Friday, April 9
One half of 2 Dope Queens, Phoebe Robinson, is returning to the small screen with a new talk show where she interviews a variety of pop culture stars, from Kevin Bacon to Gabrielle Union and more. Doing the Most with Phoebe Robinson debuts Friday, April 9 at 11/10c on Comedy Central.
Series Description: From tackling a high ropes course with Kevin Bacon, learning magic with The Property Brothers, horseback riding with Whitney Cummings and more, each episode of the series features one-on-one interviews and unique experiences with pop culture luminaries. Additional guests include Tan France, Ashley Graham, Hasan Minhaj, Eric Nam, Amber Ruffin, Dulcé Sloan and Gabrielle Union.
Wynonna Earp – Friday, April 9

The time has come to say goodbye to Wynonna and the crew as everyone races to make a perfect homestead wedding. But will things come together in time without any possible threat coming their way? Wynonna Earp airs Friday, April 9 at 10/9c on Syfy.
Episode Description: Big feelings and bigger decisions are revealed when a new witch makes herself known in Purgatory.
