What to Watch on TV This Week: A Tale of Two Cities, The Librarians: The Next Chapter, The Paper, and More
The week of September 6th is jam-packed with a diverse selection of television, ranging from exciting adaptations to highly anticipated season finales to new shows to binge.
It kicks off on September 6th, with Game of Thrones‘ Kit Harington leading MGM+’s A Tale of Two Cities, a brand-new adaptation of the Charles Dickens classic. Apple TV is also adapting Ryan David Jahn’s The Dispatcher, Last Seen.
There are new shows to look forward to, including FX’s Snowfall spinoff. The Librarians: The Next Chapter will air its season finale on September 7th, with one last thrilling adventure for the group. Beloved shows also make their grand return this week, including The Paper Season 2 and the final season of Colin From Accounts.

A Tale of Two Cities Premiere — Sunday, September 6th
A Tale of Two Cities Episode 1 premieres Sunday, September 6th, at 10/9c on MGM+.
Series Description: London, 1782. Tensions run high in the war between France and Britain. A young woman, Lucie Manette (Mirren Mack) has her life upended when she receives a message from Paris – her father, assumed dead for almost 20 years, may be alive. The messenger – idealistic French emigré, Charles Darnay (François Civil) – is arrested and charged with treason. Lucie enlists the help of a brilliant but erratic young lawyer, Sydney Carton (Kit Harington), to free Darnay in the hope he will lead her to Paris to track down her father. Lucie’s collision with Darnay and Carton unleashes a powerful and complex love triangle. Both men fight to be worthy of her love, and Lucie is torn over which one to choose. Yet neither man – physically so alike, spiritually poles apart – can escape the other. Instead, they find themselves bound together in life and death, through triumphs, tragedies, marriage, and murder.
The Librarians: The Next Chapter Season 2 Finale – Monday, September 7th
The Librarians: The Next Chapter Season 2 Episode 12, “And the Camelot Conundrum,” airs Monday, September 7th, at 9/8c on TNT.
Season Description: This season, the team must confront not only external threats but also their own deepest fears and darkest nightmares. Lysa and Connor grapple with the realities of their new roles as Librarians, while Charlie struggles under the weight of being the team’s sole Guardian. Vikram (Callum McGowan), meanwhile, must surrender his lone-wolf instincts to fully embrace team mentality. Further complicating matters, the group unexpectedly crosses paths with legendary magician Merlin, who challenges the very foundation of the Library and tempts them to break its most sacred rule.
Episode 12 Description: The Librarians face their deadliest mission yet as a power-hungry Merlin returns to Camelot to rewrite history; the team must stop the rogue wizard before time itself unravels completely.

Series Description: DANG! follows a brother and sister duo whose fun, messy lives in New York City are interrupted when their worst nightmare comes true: their high-achieving older sister shows up and wants to hang out with them.
The Drop: A Snowfall Saga Premiere – Tuesday, September 8th
The Drop: A Snowfall Saga Season 1 Episode 1, “Click Pop,” premieres Tuesday, September 8th, at 9/8c on FX.
Series Description: Set in ‘90s Los Angeles, the new series follows “Snowfall” characters Wanda (Gail Bean) and Leon (Isaiah John) as they fight to take West Coast rap mainstream while gang wars erupt and record labels move to exploit hip hop culture for their own gain.
Last Seen Premiere — Wednesday, September 9th
Last Seen Season 1 Episode 1 premieres Wednesday, September 9th, on Apple TV.
Series Description: Police detective Ian Ridley’s life fell apart 11 years ago when his young daughter, Maggie, disappeared without a trace. Season Description: The documentary crew that immortalized Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton branch in the Emmy Award-winning series The Office find a new subject when they discover a historic Midwestern newspaper and the publisher trying to revive it. In season two, after sweeping the Ohio Journalism Awards, Ned searches for a journalistic crusade, coming for a local private club and jeopardizing the paper, while he and Mare try to figure out their attraction, Esmeralda struggles to find her place, and the staff gradually mature as reporters.
