Regé-Jean Page Not Returning For ‘Bridgerton’ Season 2
Heartbreak has spread throughout the Ton as news of Regé-Jean Page’s departure from Bridgerton was made official, per Variety.
Lady Whistledown made the announcement about the Netflix series, writing, “Dear Readers, while all eyes turn to Lord Anthony Bridgerton’s quest to find a Viscountess, we bid adieu to Regé-Jean Page, who so triumphantly played the Duke of Hastings.”

“We’ll miss Simon’s presence onscreen, but he will always be a part of the Bridgerton family,” the notice continued. “Daphne will remain a devoted wife and sister, helping her brother navigate the upcoming social season and what it has to offer – more intrigue and romance than my readers may be able to bear.”
Based on Julia Quinn’s book series, Bridgerton Season 2 adapts “The Viscount Who Loved Me,” which focuses on Anthony, played by Jonathan Bailey.
He is joined by Simone Ashley as Kate Sharma and the returning Phoebe Dynevor as Daphne.

Page responded to the news on social media, telling fans, “Pleasure and a privilege! An honour to be a member of the family — on and off screen, cast, crew and incredible fans — the love is real and will just keep growing.”
Shonda Rhimes posted about Page’s departure as well, stating, “Remember: the Duke is never gone. He’s just waiting to be binge watched all over again.” #ShondalandMenOnNetflixAreForever.”
Page’s upcoming projects include the films The Gray Man and Dungeons & Dragons.
