Legacies Review: Yup, It’s a Leprechaun, All Right (Season 3 Episode 7)
Alaric and students of the boarding school must host an impromptu fundraiser to save the school on Legacies Season 3 Episode 7, “Yup, It’s a Leprechaun, All Right.” Meanwhile, Cleo attempts to help Hope move on from Landon, a dark secret reveals itself, and Josie lets her nerves get the best of her.
Alaric is still on his mission of saving the boarding school with the help of the students, Hope is still chasing Landon, and Josie can’t confront her emotions without a bit of help. Everyone is going through it with the school on the verge of being bought by the bank, but secrets could be the downfall of it all.
Hope deserves some accolades for how hard she’s been working towards grieving Landon and believing he is truly gone. Admitting to yourself that someone you love is gone and not coming back is incredibly hard for anyone, but it’s almost excruciating for Hope, which is why I’m glad in the end, she doesn’t lose her hope for his well being.

Don’t get me wrong; I love the bonding that she and Cleo establish while making Landon’s bust because she can always use a good friend. Cleo seems to have good intentions with Hope and is looking for a connection, which they both could use, but Hope is a hard nut to crack.
The leprechaun arriving at the school reestablishes her ideas of getting Landon back because that means that there’s now a portal to malivore potentially available. Any thoughts of him being gone immediately leave her mind, and she becomes so hyper-focused on getting an answer she loses focus on the school.
Hope is going through hoops to find the portal to malivore and risking everything by letting the leprechaun loose and trusting her abilities to track him. After all this time of Hope being lead to believe there was no way to reach the prison world, it turns out that MG has had the doorway the entire time. All I know is MG better be ready for a fight with Hope.

Instead of the ascendant being broken by Alyssa, it’s been in the possession of MG, just staring everyone dead in the face because of an illusion spell. I want to say that MG intentionally misleading everyone and keeping the ascendant a secret is a good thing, but I can’t because Hope deserves more.
Hope deserves the choice to risk her own life to get Landon back, but instead, she’s misled by someone she considers a friend. What makes it worse is that MG doesn’t care that he’s keeping it a secret and continues with his life like it’s nothing. He doesn’t give it a second thought until the illusion spell begins to become faulty and the ascendant gets snatched.
I believe MG’s confrontation with Hope on the issue is going to be one for the books, especially since he’s caught in the act of admitting it to Lizzie while Hope is holding the ascendant.

One more important thing that I love about the episode is Josie and Finch’s slow burn. I love the thrill that Josie gets at the thought of being on a date with Finch because it’s wholesome and relatable.
She’s so nervous for her first “date” with Finch that she’s coming up with ways to distract herself, which includes not going to school in the first place.
Josie’s plant rusty plant knowledge leads her astray as she eats a truth weed by accident. If it wasn’t for this unfortunate incident, I think that they would’ve had a lovely first date. However, the pining that Josie has for Finch leads her to track her down and apologize.

Finch doesn’t take Josie’s apology or lean in for the kiss that Josie is lowkey initiating, but the flirty back and forth continues as she offers to give Josie a ride home on her bike. It’s clear that Finch has been hurt before and that one act of Josie not showing up is something that hurt her deeply.
I already know Josie and Finch’s first date will be adorable, so I can’t wait to see it in action.
“Yup, It’s a Leprechaun, All Right” does an excellent job of setting up the potential return of Landon Kirby and ignites a real fire between our favorite characters.
Other Thoughts:
- I’m keeping my eye on Cleo because I feel like she killed the leprechaun on purpose to lead Hope away from Landon. I am more than likely wrong, but some of her comments make me question her a bit.
- Part of me wishes we could write off Alaric and have a different headmaster for the next season. It could be my bias towards Matt Davis, but I could do with less of Alaric and more of the students.
