NCIS: LA Review: Cash Flow (Season 12 Episode 4)
When Navy Reservist Coleman is found dead during a robbery, NCIS: LA Season 12 Episode 4, “Cash Flow,” features the team investigating his security job at a nightclub for clues.
With Deeks still not working with NCIS, DeChamps comes in to partner with Kensi. It’s always great when Marsha Thomason appears. DeChamps fits right in with the team, and when she shows up, it’s like no time has passed. She’s just one of the family.
The partnership of Fatima and Roundtree is fun to watch. The two have an easy chemistry as they bond over being the youngest and newest members of the team. After learning Fatima was an actor in high school, we look forward to the revelations their friendship will bring.
Most procedurals follow the same basic formula. It’s the camaraderie among the characters that keeps viewers tuning in for 12 seasons.

In its first three episodes, NCIS: LA Season 12 is awkwardly finding its footing with new protocols.
However, this week the show finally starts to feel a little like its old self. The team pairs off into partners, which makes it seem more like an actual investigative unit and not just eight people thrown together.
That being said, we need to talk about Deeks.
If this so-called police reform storyline isn’t going anywhere, and it’s just a reason to keep Eric Christian Olsen, who has a newborn, separate from his castmates, surely there’s a better way to do that.
We certainly understand everyone staying as safe as possible. What we can’t understand is why Deeks would rather be unemployed than just going to FLETC and becoming a full-fledged agent.

In case you’re wondering, Coleman, is killed by his shady club owner boss. The guy is actually a drug dealer trying to launder money, and Coleman is about to turn him in.
The return of Callen’s girlfriend Anna means we’re getting a look at NCIS: LA’s post-coronavirus world. Turns out, it actually looks just like the regular world.
The small mentions here and there, feel like the show wanted to have its cake and eat it too. The powers that be didn’t want to ignore COVID-19, but they clearly don’t have a plan for how to address it.
The way the series has handled it so far, it probably should have just ignored it.
There are obviously still some hurdles the series is navigating, but this week things get comfortably familiar again.
