Preview — Tell Me A Story Season 2 Episode 1: The Curse
The anthology series Tell Me A Story returns for Season 2 to continue its transformation of classic fairy tales into modern, psychological thrillers. Tell Me A Story Season 2 Episode 1, “The Curse,” introduces the Pruitt family and their twisted tales.
Ashley Rose Pruitt is a rising music star whose career is threatened by a tragedy. Jackson Pruitt, also a musician, can’t please his mother Rebecca and finds himself wanting to change his ways when a woman named Simone comes into his life.
Alongside dealing with relationship issues with her fiancée Tucker Reed, Maddie Pruitt does what she can to be the glue for her family.
The episode description doesn’t clue us into what three fairytales are being retold this season. The promo video clues us into the fact that Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, and Sleeping Beauty are the three stories being retold.
As for which of the characters these classic tales most align with, Jackson voices the parallels between Simone and Cinderella in the promo video. It looks like Tucker is trying to keep a woman in a room with a bed, so that points to Sleeping Beauty.
That leaves Beauty and the Beast for Ashley Rose, and a lot of the details about her story are still a mystery even with the photos and promo video. Tell Me A Story Season 2 Episode 1, “The Curse,” is the beginning of a new chapter we can’t wait to see unfold.

Episode description: Rising country music star Ashley Rose Pruitt (Natalie Alyn Lind) celebrates the launch of her debut album but a tragic event threatens to derail her success.
Under the disapproving eye of his mother, Rebeca Pruitt (Carrie-Anne Moss), troubled musician Jackson Pruitt (Matt Lauria) tries to break old habits when an intriguing stranger, Simone (Ashley Madekwe), enters his life.
Meanwhile, Maddie Pruitt (Odette Annable) attempts to hold her family together amidst a growing disconnect with her fiancée, Tucker Reed (Paul Wesley), a struggling novelist. Also starring Eka Darville.
The episode was written by Kevin Williamson & Mary Leah Sutton and directed by Jeff T. Thomas.
