After both Burnham and the remaining U.S.S. Discovery crew have had their unique introductions to the 32nd century, they are finally reunited. They take this episode not only to continue Burnham’s mission of finding and restoring the Federation but to reacclimate to each other as well.
Star Trek: Discovery Season 3 Episode 3, “People of Earth,” finds Burnham finally able to return to Earth, thanks to U.S.S. Discovery’s emergence, and specifically the Spore Drive’s. However, many centuries have passed, and with that time, Earth may have changed as well.
Is the Discovery a blessing in this dilithium-scarce world, or is it actually a target? And most importantly — who will be taking the Captain’s seat?
