The gang is back together for a heartbreaking season opener as Riverdale Season 4 Episode 1, “In Memoriam,” pays tribute to the life of Luke Perry and handles the passing of Fred Andrews. This episode sees the return of Molly Ringwald as Mary Andrews. The loss of Fred will likely bring her and Archie closer together, potentially making her a more regular presence in the town of Riverdale.
The people of Riverdale are also preparing for the annual 4th of July parade. Season 4 begins further into the summertime than any of Riverdale‘s previous installments allowing for some interesting storytelling space outside the school year. As Archie, Betty, Veronica, Jughead, and the others head into their senior year at Riverdale High, we’ve got a few questions about what Season 4 has in store.
Where is Alice Cooper? What causes Jughead to go missing too? Where will the story go when the gang all graduates? Has Penelope Blossom left Riverdale for good? And what is up with Cheryl keeping Jason’s body?
Tune in to the Riverdale Season premiere on Wednesday, October 9th, at 8/7c on The CW to find out.
