Grey’s Anatomy Season 16 Trailer: What’s Next for Meredith? And What Happened to Jackson?!
The Grey’s Anatomy Season 16 trailer is here, and after a shocking Season 15 finale, it gives us a glimpse at the consequences Meredith is facing for her actions — in addition to losing her job at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital.
While announcing that “Orange is the New Grey,” the trailer shows her picking up trash on the side of the road as court-ordered community service.
It could be worse, or maybe it is. The last time we saw her, she was on her way to confess to her crimes after telling her children goodbye.
In our interview with writer and co-executive producer Elisabeth Finch this summer, Finch confirmed that Meredith’s choices were not something would that “just magically disappear” and that she was “excited to watch her navigate that too and see what her life looks like from taking a really big risk and making a really big problem for herself.”
The trailer also shows Bailey announcing the news to Owen, Teddy, and Amelia that along with Meredith, Alex and Richard have all been fired.
As shocking as those moments were from the cliffhanger, perhaps the biggest question we’ve had all summer is about Jackson’s fate.
He took off during the storm and never returned, and the trailer shows that he is indeed in some trouble. (There’s even a nice little Station 19 crossover there.)
So what happened to Jackson? Is he alive? Probably, it seems, since Jesse Williams signed a contract for two more seasons. But let’s be real, you never know what to expect when it comes to Grey’s Anatomy.
