Crisis On Infinite Earths: What We Know About The Big Arrowverse Crossover
The stage is set for the most significant crossover the Arrowverse has ever seen, and more details are revealed about what to expect, who will be helping save the multiverse, and when it will all be going down.
From who’s going to be joining the heroes, when it will be taking place, and some thoughts on how it will be affecting the citizens of the Arrowverse, read on for more information about Crisis on Infinite Earths!
The Who…

The annual Arrowverse crossover always brings most of the heroes from across all of the shows together.
However, this year’s ambitious crossover will not only bring together the usual suspects from Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, and Supergirl together, but also newcomer Kate Kane aka Batwoman, and–for the first time since the series premiered–Jefferson Pierce himself, Black Lightning!
It was also announced during the Television Critics Association press tour that the voice behind Bruce Wayne from Batman: The Animated Series, Kevin Conroy, will be making a guest appearance as the Batman for Crisis.
Conroy will be joining all of the heroes, Tyler Hoechlin –who will be reprising his Elseworlds role of Clark Kent aka Superman, and Brandon Routh –who will be seemingly pulling double duty—as Superman, which was announced during Arrow’s San Diego Comic-Con panel earlier this summer.
Of course, you can’t have a Crisis without LaMonica Garrett’s Monitor to round out the crew.
UPDATED 9/22/19: Entertainment Weekly announced this week that a pair of Smallville faces will also be joining in on the crossover chaos, with Tom Welling and Erica Durance set to reprise their DCTV characters of Clark Kent and Lois Lane.
UPDATED 9/26/19: TVLine is reporting that Birds of Prey‘s Ashley Scott will joining the big crossover, reprising her role as the Huntress.
The What…

Last year’s crossover, Elseworlds, set the stage for what is heading the heroes’ way, as the fate of the multiverse was at stake. But when Oliver goes to The Monitor offering up a deal, himself to save Barry and Kara, it kicks off a whole new arc. What does Oliver trade-off to save the lives of the two superheroes?
We soon find out on Arrow Season 7 Episode 22, “You Have Saved This City,” precisely what the price was.
The Monitor informs Oliver that he dies in the crisis but can help save the multiverse and be saved by joining him. So, with that, we have an Oliver traveling with The Monitor and an explanation for Oliver’s absence in 2040.
The Crisis on Infinite Earths series in the comics sees The Monitor face off against his evil counterpart, The Anti-Monitor, who comes to his part of the multiverse after an explosion in his portion of it.
When the Anti-Monitor’s presence leads to the destruction of different realities, The Monitor recruits heroes from the corners of the Multiverse.
The face-off leads to an all-out war, lots of death, and a (literal) clash of the universes.
The Where…

It’s pretty safe to say that it will be jumping from all of the Earths we’ve gotten to know over the last 8 years, and if the comics are any indication, a few Earths we may not be familiar with yet.
The When…

This year’s crossover event will span 5 episodes, and—in a change from the norm—2 months. Crisis will kick off with Supergirl on December 8, followed by Batwoman on December 9, and The Flash rounding out the December portion of the crossover.
Following the usual winter hiatus, Arrow will get the post-hiatus run going on January 14 at 8/7c, with Legends of Tomorrow serving as a bookend to the event on January 14 at 9/8c on The CW.
The How…

That’s the big question, isn’t it? How will it end for the Arrowverse and our favorite heroes? Who will make it out alive, and what will the end result be?
Make sure to check back as more information is revealed about the biggest crossover event the Arrowverse has ever seen!
