‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Snags Additional 2-Season Order at ABC, Plus More Renewal and Cancellation News Across Networks
TV renewal season is reaching its peak — and just this week, we’ve learned the fates of many of our favorite shows.
ABC
Today’s big news out of the Disney-owned network is that Grey’s Anatomy has scored a major renewal, with ABC announcing that it’s ordered two more seasons of the Shonda Rhimes medical drama. And even better casting news alongside that: star Ellen Pompeo has renewed her contract through 2021.

This effectively secures the show’s place in TV history as the longest-running medical drama of all time, as it will now surpass ER‘s 15 seasons.
Also in Shondaland, ABC has renewed Station 19 for a third season and How to Get Away with Murder for a sixth season. Legal drama For the People has been cancelled after two seasons.
The Fix (co-created by OJ Simpson prosecutor Marcia Clark) was cancelled after one season.
Among ABC’s comedy slate, Speechless, Splitting Up Together, and The Kids Are Alright have all been cancelled. Black-ish was renewed for a sixth season earlier this month, and its prequel spin-off Mixed-ish was also ordered to series. Single Parents, Bless This Mess, and Fresh Off the Boat were also picked up for additional seasons.
On the reality TV side, Dancing with the Stars and The Bachelor were both renewed.

CBS
CBS comedies were also hit pretty hard with cancellation news.
Fam (a new comedy series starring former The Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev) was cancelled, as were Happy Together and the Murphy Brown revival.
On the flip side, the network picked up many of its existing drama series.
Bull, Hawaii Five-0, MacGyver, S.W.A.T., SEAL Team, FBI, and Madam Secretary were all among the renewed series for the 2019-2020 season.

Fox
Earlier today, Fox announced that vampire drama series The Passage would not be continuing beyond its freshman season.
While disappointing for fans, this news was reportedly not unexpected among industry insiders — per Deadline, both Lethal Weapon (which was also axed) and The Passage were among the network’s “bubble dramas” put in an even more precarious position when Fox ordered to series four brand-new dramas.

Among its comedies, Fox also cancelled The Cool Kids after only one season.
The CW
As per usual, The CW already announced their renewals (and no cancellations whatsoever) back in April. The 100, Roswell, New Mexico, All American, and In the Dark were among the renewed series, bring the network’s total returning roster to a whopping 14 shows.
