25 Beloved TV Doctors from the Last 15 Years
25 Beloved TV Doctors From the Last 15 Years (continued):
11. Dr. Charlotte King (Private Practice)

When we first meet Dr. Charlotte King on Private Practice she is in direct opposition of our main doctors at the Oceanside Wellness Center. Later on, she opens her own center that becomes the competition.
Through it all, Charlotte gives new meaning to the strong, fierce female. She dominates in a world where she is surrounded by men. She doesn’t ever back down and isn’t afraid to flex her figurative muscles.
Despite being this tough closed off woman, Charlotte does have a soft side that only comes out on rare occasions. The person who really makes her softer side shine is her husband, Dr. Cooper Freedman. Together these two doctors easily show the world who is boss.
12. Dr. Naomi Bennett (Private Practice)

Shonda Rhimes gave the world one of the kindest, most level-headed female doctors when she created Private Practice and a one Dr. Naomi Bennett. This reproductive endocrinologist and fertility specialist helps to run the Oceanside Wellness Group.
She is the beating heart of the family of doctors that run her wellness practice. It is her heart and passion that endears everyone to her — friend, colleague, and patient alike.
Dr. Bennett believes in faith and science when it comes to helping the women she sees. Her work is well known and well respected. So much so that many different practices have called upon her to work for them.
With her best friend, Dr. Addison Montgomery, at her side, Dr. Bennett improves the lives of many women and their families.
13. Dr. Shaun Murphy (The Good Doctor)

FREDDIE HIGHMORE
Autism and surgeon rarely appear in the same sentence. However, as Dr. Shaun Murphy is out to prove those two words can very well go hand in hand.
Murphy’s co-workers don’t always trust him or have his back, but ultimately he ends up proving them wrong. He never calls people out on their lack of faith in him instead, he does what he is trained to do and expects nothing from those around him.
As he continues to change hearts and minds, Murphy also grows in his own right as well. Murphy uses every opportunity to learn from his co-workers and patients alike the proper etiquette for social interactions. It’s a journey worth watching and celebrating.
14. Dr. John Carter (ER)

Hands down one of the greats on a show chock-full of beloved doctors. Dr. John Carter is the doctor he is because he learned from ER‘s ultimately best doctor, Dr. Mark Greene (the only reason he isn’t on this list is that he doesn’t fit the “15 years” requirement).
In the beginning, Dr. Carter was a spoiled rich kid who thought he was hot shit and that money could get him anything in life. Then he was placed in the ER at County Hospital as a medical student. His time in the ER changed his trajectory forever.
The ER is where Carter realizes he is better suited for emergency medicine due to his compassionate approach and that he could do more good in the world for others with his money instead of spending it on himself. His legacy at County is an HIV/AIDS clinic and his wisdom learned from the greats before him.
15. Dr. Kerry Weaver (ER)

Dr. Kerry Weaver was one of the first strong female leaders in the field of TV medicine. She didn’t take anyone’s crap and worked twice as hard as anyone around her.
In the beginning, her tough as nails attitude didn’t garner her many friends. However, by the time she makes her exit, to go and raise her son, she is beloved by almost all in the ER.
Dr. Weaver wasn’t just one of the first badass women doctors, she was also one of the first genuine representations of the LGBT community on our TV screens. She never lets it define her, but she also never lets anyone forget it either.
16. Dr. Max Goodwin (New Amsterdam)

Even though Dr. Max Goodwin has only been with us less than a year he is already capturing our hearts. There is just something about his passion and gusto for changing the world one patient at a time that reminds us of other television greats, but with his own unique spin on things.
Max wants the world of medicine to no longer be about the money of it. Instead, he wants his team of doctors to focus on patients first, always. Some would say that approach is a bit naive but, week after week he proves that it is possible if we try hard enough.
He is the epitome of the sentiment that a smile and a bit of love is free. In one short season, Max has won over many hearts and minds amongst his coworkers through consistent proof that his way of running things actually works.
17. Dr. Drew Alister (The Night Shift)

Another doctor on our list who has ties to the military, Dr. Drew Alister works as a doctor at San Antonio Memorial Hospital while also remaining a medic in the Army Reserves. He is proud of his service and will always go out of his way to help a fellow service member or veteran.
Dr. Alister is well known for his giant heart and desire to always turn over every stone possible in order to help his patients. One great example of this comes when he treats a foster mom and her foster daughter after a car accident. He realizes the girl has cystic fibrosis and is in need of a stable home in order to be cleared for life-saving surgery.
As a result, Drew and his husband decide to take the girl into their home and ultimately adopt her. It showed a domestic side to this loving but tough doctor that endears his fans to him that much more.
18. Dr. Andy Brown (Everwood)

If you are looking for an every mans town in Colorado then look no further than Everwood. The town is small and idyllic nestled in among the mountains and it contains not one but two family doctors. The most beloved of which is Dr. Andy Brown.
After his wife died, Dr. Brown transplanted his family from NYC to Everwood where he stepped down as a top neurosurgeon to take on the role of a general physician. Not many residents trust him at first, but through compassion, an open heart, and a wonderful listening ear Dr. Brown wins them over in spades.
Over time, he really begins to cement himself into the daily routine of his new home. It reaches a point where his fellow doctor rival and he become solid friends, finally working together to keep their patients happy and healthy.
19. Dr. Louisa Delgado (Strong Medicine)

Despite being virtually unknown, Dr. Louisa Delgado is a doctor everyone should get behind. On the show Strong Medicine she is a doctor who works at a failing clinic in Philadelphia that caters to poor women.
When the show starts she is asked to combine her clinic with Rittenhouse Hospital and Dr. Dana Stowe. The goal is for the two women to work together and help all women. The two doctors work tirelessly to make their dreams realities.
Dr. Delgado is a strong, independent woman who doesn’t understand the meaning of the word no. She will go to any great length for her patients. If this isn’t enough to have you falling hard for her then let’s add that she is a single mother as well.
20. Dr. Perry Cox (Scrubs)

Mixing medicine with comedy leads to a great show formula that is made even better by the characters themselves. Scrubs has a multitude of great characters with the title doctor. There are JD, Turk, Todd, and Elliot, but the very best has to be Dr. Perry Cox.
First of all, who doesn’t love a brilliant doctor with a quick snark every time you turn around? His sarcasm and wit are what drive all other jokes on the show.
That doesn’t mean Dr. Cox doesn’t have a few heartfelt moments as well. Some of his strongest moments are when he puts his barriers aside and lets his colleagues into his heart, no matter how short-lived it is.
