Wynonna Earp Review: No Cure For Crazy (Season 3 Episode 4)
On Wynonna Earp Season 3 Episode 4, “No Cure for Crazy,” there’s quite a bit going on, and that’s putting it mildly.
We finally witness the mysterious woods that the Yarn texts, which were released before Wynonna Earp Season 3 Episode 1, hinted at. Then there’s the fact that BBD is no longer financing the revenant-hunting crew, Bulshar visiting Doc, and Mama Earp — it’s a lot.
You feel like you’re being dragged from one mystery to another without getting any answers. Trying to put the pieces all together is enough to make your brain hurt.

The reveal that Mama Earp has tried to kill Waverly before is such a huge thing to unpack and make sense of that it deserves time to sit on its own.
To kill time between all the Mama Earp scenes, it would have been better to focus on something less confusing than the moving trees considering that the mystery involves Jeremy and newbie Robin and also includes a Doc and Bulshar meeting.
Another option would allow the Mama Earp storyline to take over the entire hour. It would have allowed Waverly (and us) a chance to process things, and it’s not as if there’s not enough stuff going on.
Nedley: Michelle didn’t go to prison because she burned down the barn. She went because her youngest daughter was in it.
While Waverly’s reunion with her mother goes absolutely horribly, it does make it clear that Mama Earp is trying to protect Waverly. All of this probably has to do with who Waverly’s real parents are. Perhaps Waverly’s mom is Jolene?
If the current barn scene is any indication, Mama Earp has always been more concerned with killing the demon and keeping it away from Waverly than with killing Waverly. Do you agree?
Okay, on to the trees!

The fact that Bulshar appears in the trees cannot be a coincidence. Would it be too crazy to suggest that the trees do Bulshar’s bidding? This is Wynonna Earp, so stranger things have happened.
The trees moving and fog appearing definitely sets an ominous mood. There’s something disturbing about the woods already, even without moving trees.
Whatever is going on, it is affecting the Ghost River Triangle on a much grander scale. The stakes are higher, which is exciting.
Waverly: I knew him in high school.
Jeremy: No setups!
Waverly: He’s back in Purgatory. He has a job.
Jeremy: Wow, in town and employed! I guess I better pick a wedding date.
Even though he licked a murder tree and is definitely lying to Jeremy about whatever he just coughed up, Robin is adorable, and I ship him and Jeremy hardcore.
It’s about time Jeremy got a love interest! He needs someone to share his time with.
Jeremy and Robin bring some levity and humor to the hour. They are fun to watch, and they are absolutely adorable. Hopefully, Robin won’t turn out to be evil. Do you ship them?

Stray Thoughts:
- Is the answer simply that Peacemaker is out of bullets or is there another reason why Wynonna couldn’t fire it?
- Wynonna’s fight scene at the jail is badass.
- Is the reason Doc can hear the voice on the tape because he’s been to hell?
- How does Jolene make so many sweets so quickly? Demon skills?
- It’s so great that the fallout of BBD not paying the bills is being addressed.
“No Cure for Crazy” hands us question after question, and we don’t get any answers. It’s one confusing hour with a bit too much going on.

I loved this episode of Wynonna Earp! Alot going on, yes but none of it dull! I hope Momma Earp is Waverly’s mom and I think Mamma Earp is trying to protect Waverly. It may be that the demon can only be seen by Mamma Earp but this couldn’t explain why all the years Momma has been locked up the demon has not gone after Waverly. Maybe it onlty appears when Momma and Waverly are together as some kind of threat from the demons to Momma that she should behave or comply to whatever threat she poses to the demons? In any case it’s great to see things getting hot while maintaining consistency with story lines and characters.
