Nico Tortorella Talks ‘Younger’ and New Book ‘all of it is you’ [Exclusive Interview]
While at the ATX Television Festival last month, I sat down with Younger’s Nico Tortorella to chat about the latest season of the series as well as Tortorella’s new book of poetry, all of it is you. (Full video below.)
Tortorella began by talking about the journey that Josh is taking this season on Younger.
“Josh’s relationship history has always been a little rocky, and that doesn’t necessarily change. But I think that given everything that’s happened in the past, Josh has this real opportunity to take a real look at himself and what he’s doing,” Tortorella said.
“He makes a pretty big commitment this year, which I’m excited about for him.”

Several of Josh’s friendships have grown stronger over the seasons as well, and one dynamic that’s especially interesting now is his friendship with Liza.
“Rarely you see on television a romantic relationship between a man and a woman move to a platonic one,” Tortorella noted.
“I think it’s beautiful to celebrate that with these two characters. But I think there’s something so familial about Josh and Liza together. Their love runs so deep that that will never go away. It’s just shifting.”

Tortorella’s new book of poetry, all of it is you, which includes photography and hand-drawn illustrations, explores themes such as identity, feminism, polyamory, gender expression, astrology, and self-care, but the overall theme is much broader.
“The book is really a celebration of ourselves and self-love.”
“In the work that I’ve been doing recently surrounding gender and sexuality, my whole world has shifted. And my position in social justice is really, really important to me,” Tortorella continued. “The book was just the natural next step.”
