15 Stars We’d Love to See Play Sabrina on Netflix
Earlier this year, it was announced that The CW was developing a Riverdale companion series based on The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina comic book series. There were a lot of unanswered questions after the news was reported.
Would Sabrina show up on Riverdale? Would Archie, Betty, and their friends be dealing with magic? And my personal favorite — who would play Sabrina?
It was recently announced that Netflix ordered twenty episodes of the series, taking it off The CW’s hands. The currently untitled series imagines the origin and adventures of Sabrina the Teenage Witch as a dark coming-of-age story that traffics in horror, the occult, and witchcraft.
Since we know the show is definitely coming, we put together a wish list of 15 stars we think would be a great fit to play the role of Sabrina.
1. Dove Cameron
The former Liv and Maddie star is currently part of the Descendants franchise and has been teasing new television roles on social media. While we know she is set to appear on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., there has been no word of a series regular role. Playing Sabrina could be the perfect role to put the actress back in the front seat.
2. AnnaSophia Robb
AnnaShophia Robb has already had success leading a CW series, Sex in the City prequel The Carrie Diaries.
The network may be different, but one component to a winning combination for a teen series is a talented young lead, and Robb is definitely that. It would be nice to see the talented actress playing someone a bit darker this time around.
3. Ajiona Alexus
Landing the role of a teenage Cookie Lyon on Empire allowed Aijona Alexus to shine. After getting a tape on Netflix series 13 Reasons Why, playing Sabrina on the upcoming series could be a great opportunity for this star. Alexus is an untapped talent who has recurred on a show with buzz, which more often describes the leads of similar shows.
4. Violett Beane
Violett Beane stands out as DC hero Jesse Quick on The Flash, but as a recurring character, she doesn’t get many chances to do it.
Luckily, a role on the upcoming Fox drama series The Resident is in her future, but the opportunity for a starring role is hard to pass up. Beane would be an excellent choice to cast spells as Sabrina.
5. Poppy Drayton
As The Shannara Chronicles’ Amberle, Poppy Drayton made a strong, powerful and impressive introduction as a female lead. While her stint was short-lived, Drayton was excellent on the series and deserves a quick return to the small screen. If they are looking for a versatile and talented actress for Sabrina, then Drayton is a fantastic choice.
6. Gracie Gillam
Gracie Gillam was a fan favorite character on short-lived series The Nine Lives of Chloe King. She was the bubbly, fun and dynamic best friend to the lead, which made her the best of its supporting cast.
Since then, a combination of recurring roles and a series regular gig on Z Nation has kept the actress busy. The Netflix series would provide the actress with the starring opportunity she deserves.

Alamin is an aspiring writer, social media editor, and television enthusiast. While he has been a TV fan since the days of Martin, Living Single, and Buffy The Vampire Slayer, the introduction of Netflix and a rewatch of Grey's Anatomy kick things into high gear. One of his life goals is to find a Cul-de-Sac crew of his own and he'll never stop hoping for "Happy Endings" to return.
