Season 2 Preacher got an upgrade as the show got picked up for an extended season. Coming into the premiere, we know that Jessie, his ex-girlfriend Tulip and Irish vampire Cassidy are starting on a road trip to find God. In this process though, they will end up in a battle between heaven and hell – which is when things get interesting.

The show itself is based on the graphic novel of the same name, and did really well with audiences with its fresh take on television storytelling. Hold on to your hats!

The Mist is one of the newest series coming to television that is an book adaptation. The premise is similar to the movie released over ten years ago — after an mysterious mist rolls into a small town, the residents must battle the eerie haze and its threats.

The characters also fight to keep their morality and sanity, which is showcased in the twisted reality on screen that audiences love about Stephen King’s novel.

An historical drama based in the 1980s, a diverse group of misfits are brought together to form Glamorous Ladies of Wrestling, or GLOW.  Though the lead character is a fictional sum up of a few of the eclectic and over-the-top ladies who were a part of this group, there are some historically based characters to be on the look out for. Be ready to expect leg warmers, mullets, and classic hair rock from this comedy.

10. Gypsy (Netflix, June 30)

Gypsy is a new psychosexual drama that features a therapist who plays with the dangerous line of intimacy with those connected to her patients. The storyline feels a little familiar — perfect life with the house, husband, kid, and career all while seemingly losing control when trying to live out her own fantasies.

But we’re hoping this can be a dark but a new refreshing way to talk about some of the more complex impulses and desires that female characters don’t always get a chance to explore. From what we have seen, we are in for one sexy and twisted roller coaster ride.

11. Killjoys (SyFy, June 30 8/7c)

Killjoys has a slightly shortened Season 3, but it promises to not disappoint. While the finale answered some questions, even bigger cliffhangers were presented.

What has become of our favorite trio? When will the unhinged daughter of Dutch’s late mentor Khlyen, Aneela, get her revenge? Now that war is upon the system, what will become of the bounty hunters mantra of “the warrant is all”?

12. Will (TNT, July 10 9/8c)

TNT is hoping to reach a new demographic with their take on a revamped version of the loosely based story of William Shakespeare. Will does have a lot going for it, but it is still surrounding the sometimes dull Elizabethan era.

The show itself will be focusing on when Will first comes to London and will be introducing characters we have learned about in the history books, including Richard Burbage, who was known with Shakespeare as the greatest writer-actor partnership.
