15 Reasons We’ll Miss Sense8
13. The Innovation
Sense8 was a fearless, artistic masterpiece of a television show that didn’t shy away from any issue, sensuous moment, or brutal situation.
It was innovative in that it took many risks, such as the orgy scenes amongst the sensates, the brutal conclusion to Angelica’s life, and the brutal treatment of the sensates by Angelica herself or Whispers. It’s not a remake of a past story or spin-off, but an original idea about connected Homo sensoriums and their story in today’s world.
This form of artistic authenticity and honesty made for an inspiring series.
14. The Fandom
The fandom was also a huge reason why many fans will miss Sense8. The audience formed communities on social media like Twitter, Tumblr, Facebook, etc. It was a way for many individuals who mutually loved this show to join and talk about the politics exhibited in the show, the artistic decisions made by the writers, producers, or editors, or maybe rave about how much they loved a certain character.
For several reasons, the Sense8 fandom was a great space to meet new people and share ideas.
15. The Bingeability
All of these characteristics in this list add to the last item: Bingeability. Yes, I made up the word, but I didn’t make up its application to the show.
Since this show had amazing characters, acted as a leader in minority representation, contained well-written and captivating stories, etc., Sense8 was so amazing that it was hard to turn off the TV. There weren’t lags in the plot, and the emotion in the series was so balanced that there was no need for a break – unless you have adulting responsibilities or something.
The last two episodes were a little heavy? Just wait because the next episode could be about free love and happiness as everyone gets to celebrate in a Pride parade. One character’s story beginning to lag? Just wait for the next episode when we shift to someone else and explore their struggles.
These aspects made this show such an enjoyable and important show. Because of this, it will truly be missed by its fans.
