Growing Up McGhee Recap: Turks and Caicos Here We Come (Season 2 Episode 10)

Growing Up McGhee, Recaps

Growing Up McGhee Season 2 Episode 10, “Turks and Caicos Here We Come,” features the McGhees on a beautiful island as Mia and Ro plan to renew their vows.

The episode begins with Mia and Ro explaining how they met to the kids because they’ve never got the chance to hear the story. Mia and Ro met while in high school and upon meeting Mia, Ro knew that she was the one for him.

The two got engaged right after high school at the ages of eighteen and nineteen. An engagement was assumed to happen at some point as they were both living together their senior year of high school.

Mia needed to have a solid foundation in her relationship before she made the next big step. She wanted to make sure that she wasn’t like the rest of her family. Having children with no marriage was not something that was in Mia McGhee’s plans.

At the time of their wedding, Mia and Ro went to the courthouse with Ro’s family and one of Mia’s best friend. Being caught up in the moment of marrying the love of their lives, they didn’t even think to snap a picture of the extraordinary moment.

Mia and Ro are a couple that was destined to be together. Their love for one another proves that.

The kids are coming along on the trip to be in the wedding, and then Mia and Ro are going to have the honeymoon that they never had. Mia then calls the resort in Turks & Caicos to set up the wedding plans.

Mia wants her wedding to be small, simple wedding with the children and Ro on the beach. Nothing sounds better than a little family being together during that tender moment.

Mia’s friend, Cieaira, is going on the trip with them to watch the kids, so Mia and Ro get to enjoy their time there. Not to say that they don’t enjoy the time with their children, but a honeymoon should strictly be between husband and wife.

Next, it’s wedding dress and tuxedo time. The whole family makes their way downtown to get tuxes and pick out a wedding dress for Mia. The boys take about two seconds to decide which tuxedos they like.

Ro finds his tux and then goes on his way with the boys while Mia, her friends, and the girls stick around to try on wedding dresses. It doesn’t take long before Mia finds the perfect dress that makes her glow. Seriously, Mia looks so radiant in her dress that I tear up a bit at sight.

It’s the night before the big trip, and everyone is still doing last-minute packing. Mia and Ro are packing light for the children and plan on using the washer and dryers at the resort. Smart move on their part!

The time finally comes for everyone to head to the airport and get their trip on. This is the first time that the family is taking a flight across the ocean together. The McGhee’s land, a grand entrance prepared just for them.

Not only do they get the vacation, but they also get two butlers to be there for them every step of the way.

The view from Mia and Ro’s room is truly to die for. Mia, Ro, and the kids end up spending a lot of their time on the beach, in the pool and having a great breakfast. Then, they head over to meet with the wedding planner to go over specifics such as color, flowers, and the menu.

It finally starts to hit Ro that he is finally going to get a real marriage to the woman he loves. Ro crying at the thought of getting to marry Mia again is such a pure, beautiful moment to watch.

This is what real love looks like. This is yet another reason Growing Up McGhee is a show that everyone should be watching. Mia and Ro put on display what a truly loving relationship looks like.

Next week is the wedding!
