22 Marvelous Male TV Characters from 2016
The year 2016 is one many of us won’t forget. And quite frankly, there are a lot of us who are glad this year is almost over.
But when it comes to television, 2016 was a memorable year thanks to more amazing shows and some unforgettable performances. Here’s a look at some of the best male TV characters from this past year, in no particular order.
1. Seeley Booth (Bones)
Sadly, Bones only has one season left before it’s over, and we’re definitely going to miss Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz). This is a character who exemplifies what it means to be a good man, and he’s shown tremendous character growth over the years. Seeley Booth doesn’t give up, and he always tries to do what’s right — even if he makes some mistakes along the way.
2. Eddie Lane (The Path)
Aaron Paul delivered incredible performances as Eddie Lane on the Hulu original series, The Path, this year. He’s a complex character who is struggling with whether or not he believes in the religion, and the cult, that he and his family are a part of. Unfortunately, his search for the truth could mean losing his family altogether.
3. Tom Chandler (The Last Ship)
Tom Chandler, played by Eric Dane, is the kind of leader you want around in a post-apocalypse. Even when everything seems hopeless, he does what he has to do to serve his country and help save the world.
He’s loyal to a fault, willing to break the rules when he has to, and one heck of a fighter. If there’s one thing we learned from this past season of The Last Ship, it’s that you should never, ever underestimate Tom Chandler.
4. Randall Pearson (This is Us)
Randall Pearson is one of the best parts of the new NBC series, This is Us. He won us over immediately, and manages to make us laugh one moment and cry the next. Sterling K. Brown’s portrayal is Emmy-worthy, for sure. Just saying.
5. Mike Lawson (Pitch)
Fans fell in love with a new Fox series this year: Pitch. And yes, that really is Mark-Paul Gosselaar (a.k.a. Zack Morris) with a beard. Gosselaar played the role of Mike Lawson flawlessly — a character who is tough on the outside and offers inspiring speeches on a regular basis, but who struggles with his own personal demons on the inside.
6. Luke Danes (Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life)
The much-anticipated Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life reminded us why we fell in love with some of our favorite characters in the first place. One of those beloved characters? Luke Danes.
Years later, he still resists technology as he gives out fake wi-fi passwords in the diner, and he’s willing to fight more than ever for the woman he loves.

Your list is bogus without Eric Christian Olsen from NCIS LA. He is having the the best season ever.
I like Malcolm Barrett as Rufus on Timeless and also Love Wyatt played by Matt Lanter!
