Daniel Holden is arguably one of the best and most interesting characters on television. Rectify Season 4 has him adjusting to a new life and trying to figure out his place in the world for some of the most emotional, captivating moments of the series.

8. Alex Karev (Grey’s Anatomy)

GREY'S ANATOMY - "Falling Slowly" - Alex tries to do the right thing but still cant catch a break. Jackson and April adjust to their "new normal" with the baby. While Meredith and Nathan establish what's going on between them, Amelia questions the state of her relationship with Owen, on "Grey's Anatomy," THURSDAY, OCTOBER 13 (8:00-9:00 p.m. EDT), on the ABC Television Network. (ABC/Richard Cartwright)

Poor Alex. This season of Grey’s Anatomy has him facing not only a possible end to his career, but also time in prison. Yet the Alex we see in Season 13 is one who has grown and changed more than any other character on the show — and for the better.

Even though what he did was awful (beating DeLuca nearly to death) we can’t help but root for him and hope that somehow, everything will work out.

9. Alec Baldwin’s Donald Trump (Saturday Night Live)

SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE -- "Tom Hanks" Episode 1708 -- Pictured: Alec Baldwin as Republican Presidential Candidate Donald Trump during the "Third Debate Cold Open" sketch on October 22, 2016 -- (Photo by: Will Heath/NBC)

Alec Baldwin’s perfect portrayal of Donald Trump gave us a much-needed reason to laugh during the 2016 election season. Thank goodness Baldwin is continuing to play the role.

10. Edgar Quintero (You’re the Worst)

YOU'RE THE WORST -- "Twenty-Two" -- Episode 305 (Airs Wednesday, September 28, 10:00 pm e/p -- Pictured: Desmin Borges as Edgar Quintero. CR: Byron Cohen/FX.

How can you not love Edgar from You’re the Worst? Particularly with this season, he’s gotten the chance to shine in some complex ways as he dealt with his PTSD, found a new love interest, and started a new career. Desmin Borges gave an especially memorable performance in this season’s Edgar-centered episode.

11. Sheldon Cooper (The Big Bang Theory)

Sheldon is often the best part (and the funniest part) of The Big Bang Theory, and this year, we’ve seen him take a major step toward furthering his relationship with Amy — moving in together. We also learned a little more about his character’s backstory, including the surprising reason why he knocks three times on a door before he enters.

12. Harvey Specter (Suits)

SUITS -- "Trust" Episode 605 -- Pictured: Gabriel Macht as Harvey Specter -- (Photo by: Ian Watson/USA Network)

Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht) is loyal, charming, and a kick-ass lawyer. There’s really nothing quite like watching Harvey win a case during trial — except for watching him do whatever it takes to get his best friend out of prison.

  • Your list is bogus without Eric Christian Olsen from NCIS LA. He is having the the best season ever.

  • I like Malcolm Barrett as Rufus on Timeless and also Love Wyatt played by Matt Lanter!
