American Horror Story Preview: Season 6 Theme Mystery

American Horror Story

If you’re a fan of American Horror Story, then you already know how much fun the creators are having by teasing us, the fans, with multiple different trailers.

You also know just how much torture it is for fans everywhere.

After five years of American Horror Story doing the same thing when it comes to themes being announced, Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk decided that it was time to switch things up. And so far it’s been working for them.

Everyone who watches the show has been looking forward to any new hints as to what the real theme might be. But, with all of these new trailers (misdirects) popping up every week, it’s tough to stay excited.

With the theme not being officially announced, it’s kind of hard to fantasize about what might happen during this next season. How are fans supposed to daydream about what Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, and the rest of the cast are doing this season if they don’t even know what the storyline is going to be centered around?

The answer is: you can’t. As sad as that might sound, there’s not much that fans can do at this point other than sit back and wait for the first episode to air on September 14th.

Now just because you shouldn’t get your hopes up by thinking that one trailer is the real one doesn’t mean that fans, myself included, don’t do exactly that.

With only a few cast members really confirmed (including Lady Gaga, Angela Bassett, and Cheyenne Jackson), no theme, and no set pics, what else are you supposed to do?

Fans really aren’t left with much when all of the teasers are put together. The only real pattern is children and aliens.

What we do know about this season is that it is going to include children in the plot very densely. So, could the promos including the children be a hint as to what the real theme is?

Creators Brad Falchuk and Ryan Murphy have introduced kids into the American Horror Story world before, but they have never made a season where children are a crucial part to the storyline. In American Horror Story: Hotel we saw children being used to further plot lines for other characters, but that was about it. So, is this the season where they dive into a children-themed season?

Or, could this new season revolve around aliens? With rumors going around and the teasers that have been released, it wouldn’t be a huge surprise.

Maybe if this season revolves around aliens, the fans might get some clarification as to what exactly happened in American Horror Story: Asylum. They never did quite explain as to what significance the aliens had in ‘Asylum’ or why they were really introduced.

To loads of fans, the aliens that were introduced were not needed. With the fact that Season 6 is going to tie together to the rest of the previous seasons, it’s a good guess that we might see the aliens on our screen once again.

FX has launched a contest where you can choose which teaser you think is the correct one. If you pick the correct teaser then you will automatically be entered to win a trip to visit the American Horror Story set!

The teasers that are on the site are: Post Op, Lullaby, Wind Chimes, The Shadow, Blind Date, and Camp Sight.

After everything that has been released so far, what do you think the real theme is, and why? Let us know in the comments below!

American Horror Story Season 6 premieres Wednesday, September 14th at 10/9c on FX.
