Wayward Pines Preview: Attack of the Abbies, Low Food Supply (Season 2 Episode 6)
Wayward Pines is halfway through its second season. Despite that, we are yet to see any kind of fast-paced action that made the first season worth watching.
But “Sound The Alarm” did leave us with quite the cliffhanger.
After teasing another potential abbie attack at the very heart of Wayward Pines, the show gives us an idea of what we can expect from “City Upon a Hill.”
We see Jason being scolded by Kerry about acting more like a leader. What we have seen of Jason so far, has been a kid who was unwillingly thrust into a role of leadership. But he is yet to come into his own in that role.
Jason will have to be the leader that Wayward Pines needs if he intends to lead them in a time of crisis. But of course, you might wonder if Theo Yedlin might be that leader.
After he was visibly shaken when he learned about Rebecca’s marriage to Xander, one wouldn’t expect a man like Theo to be leading the citizens of Wayward Pines, but that is exactly what he’s seen doing in the preview.
What’s more, the citizens want to follow him. I remember the kind of welcome that Ethan, a Secret Service Agent got in Wayward Pines, and I think that Dr. Yedlin is definitely the man who could start a revolution and end Jason’s dictatorship.
Also, we learn about how the abbies have taken back the valley outside Wayward Pines. That part is huge. It means that the citizens have no food resources anymore. In fact, CJ thinks they’ve only got six weeks.
On a grim note, it looks like Theresa and Adam’s time on the show may have run out. We see soldiers standing vigil over a grave, and since they were at the heart of the valley, I don’t really see how they could have made it out.
In the midst of all that, the abbies inside Wayward Pines continue to look creepy as usual. I’m pretty sure they’re supposed to be a gigantic distraction. But I wonder if Wayward Pines will be caught between the abbies within and without.
