The Originals Review: Alone with Everybody (Season 3 Episode 16)
If we learned something from The Originals “Alone with Everybody,” it’s that to embrace the future you must let go of the past. There’s no chance for hope, growth, or happiness for the Mikaelsons if they don’t heed this warning.
Let’s talk about it!
Hayley pays it forward to create a better world for her daughter. Instead of letting the pain of her past overwhelm her, she uses it to help another. She also takes this opportunity tell Klaus that his behavior is detrimental to their future stability. He needs to stop blaming others for the disastrous situations he’s put his family in. They’re are of his making. Klaus has moments of clarity, but they’re always muddled by the fear he has to be vulnerable. Maybe this time will be different because they’re separated from their enemies. Maybe he can keep the promise he’s made to her, to be her partner.
They keep the white oak as a backup plan for when they want to end it. What seems ill-advised at first, becomes relatable when looking back at their history. They will continue to have moments of loss and pain for the rest of their existence, they’ve made too many enemies to avoid it. If and when they decide that it’s too much, the white oak bullet will be their mercy. It will be no one’s choice but their own. Now they just have to get it back from that slicked back and untrustworthy blonde vampire. Trouble written all over that woman.
Lucien is either an idiot or he has a death wish. Kidnapping Freya is going to be the death of him. Elijah, Finn, and Kol will put aside their differences to get back the one person they all love. Finn will give up on his vow to destroy the family at the same time Kol gives up on destroying him. Elijah in turn will help both of them with Kol’s blood-lust and Finn’s immortality issue. See Lucien? Biggest mistake ever! They are powerful and unstoppable together.
This even has a chance of bringing Klaus back into the mix. He cares for his daughter’s safety and his own, but he just went through a lesson on not leaving the ones you care behind. Furthermore, he’s shown that to move forward he needs to let go of the past. Without letting go of that anger and selfishness he’s going to be stuck in a loop that never ends. Hopefully he sees the benefit of changing and comes back to help his family. Just because he hasn’t been seen in New Orleans for three years doesn’t mean he can’t help when they head down to Mystic Falls.
Other observations:
- Never trust a vampire with slicked back hair, especially if it’s big. No doubt it’s full of secrets.
- The ancestors working with this new mysterious big bad means two things. Secret baddie is a witch and old enough to hold the power he/she has.
- Finn deserves his freedom. He has been wronged more than anyone. An eternity with no hope for escape.
- Davina needed to back off and take off those rose colored glasses. She’s backing someone who doesn’t see the anger and danger in front of her.
- Why is everyone so beautiful on this show? That’s the real mystery that needs to be solved on a week to week basis.

Klayley scenes were so great my entire twitter timeline were so crazy for them.. Love those two #TheOriginals #Klayley
I love where they’re going with Klayley too. Even if they never end up together, they’re working on being a unit for their daughter. Thanks for commenting!
