Galavant: 10 Best Songs From Season 2
Galavant — ABC’s one of a kind, comedic, musical extravaganza, was back for Season 2 and picked up right where it left off, not missing a beat. From the talented cast, to the clever writing, to the fabulous original music, there is so much to enjoy about Galavant. The songs by Oscar winning composer Alan Menken, and lyricist Glenn Slater are easily the highlight of the show. Here are a few of the standouts from Season 2.
1. It’s A New Season
This song, at the beginning of Season 2 Episode 1, is a perfect example of what makes this show so fun. It brings viewers up to date on the happenings in Hortensia and Valencia with lyrics that are peppered with funny and relevant shout-outs to current events in the real world.
2. As Good as it Gets
The Chef and the handmaiden Gwynne are the most well rounded couple on Galavant. Unlike Queen Madalena and Gareth who have to reach to find things they like about each other, and Galavant and Isabella whose romance is mostly in their heads and built around a single kiss, Chef and Gwynne have been in tune from the very start. Now employed by the new King and Queen, they have moved up in life. This song appreciates what life in the new ‘upper lower-class’ lane brings.
3. Lets Agree to Disagree
Gareth and Madalena struggle to find common ground as they try and rule the kingdom together. Sid is Gareth’s right hand man and is perpetually caught in the middle. He decides its time for an intervention and asks them to try and find things that they have in common. As the title of the song suggests, there really is not much!
4. What Am I feeling
We feel you, Madalena. This song is bringing forth all kinds of emotions.https://t.co/0uh3f6oyOV

Here we see a different side of the wicked Queen Madalena. She is typically unapologetically cruel, and in her own words “never truly had feelings.” This song explores some of what makes her who she is. It is also the moment when Gareth begins to have feelings for her. One of the few times in the show when Madalena is almost likable, almost.
