7 Awesome TV Shows That Ended Too Soon

Lists

From comedy to drama to cooking shows, here’s a list of television shows that ended long before they should have:

1. The Finder: Geoff Stults plays a quirky war vet who may just have a meltdown if he’s ever unable to find something. This fun, unique Bones spinoff only lasted one season, despite its likeable characters and exceptional writing.

2. Freaks and Geeks: The dark humor of this comedy about high-school in the 80s is witty, entertaining, and at times, difficult to watch. Probably because we can all identify with at least one character in some way that brings up a traumatic high school memory. Even more fun– you’ll see Seth Rogan, James Franco, Jason Segal, Linda Cardellini, and John Francis Daley before they were all grown up.

3. Iron Chef America: Although apparently not “officially” cancelled, this intense reality cooking competition show seems to have fallen off the map. And my world feels a little emptier without it. There are still the occasional “special episodes,” especially around the holidays, but I’d love to see it come back regularly. 4. Don’t Trust the B. in Apt. 23: A hilarious comedy that plays on the nostalgia of 90’s television with James Van Der Beek playing himself, this comedy should have stayed on the airways for a lot more than one season. But never fear, at least you can watch its one season on Netflix.

5. The Glades: Although the writing wasn’t always top-notch, The Glades was a summertime television must. Matt Passmore plays a cocky detective in this lighter version of a crime series set in Miami Florida. It lasted 4 seasons, which is a good run, but the cliffhanger we were left with was unacceptable.

6. Enlisted: Yet another show starring Geoff Stultz, Enlisted is a fun comedy with a serious message. Geoff Stultz, Chris Lowell, and Parker Young play three soldiers assigned to a rear detachment unit in Florida. Personally, I don’t think the show was given a fair shake.

7. Emily Owens, M.D.: Grey’s Anatomy fans are likely to either love or loathe this light-hearted version of a medical drama. It shares common tropes and story lines with Grey’s, but while making us fall in love with it’s klutzy-cute protagonist. It’s ending, at least, had a decent payoff instead of leaving us with any sort of serious cliffhanger.

So how can you see these shows? Most are available on Netflix, or you can get them here.
