Carrie Renewed for Season 2 on Prime Video
Just over two weeks after its debut, Carrie has been renewed for a second season on Prime Video.
The series from showrunner Mike Flanagan premiered with its eight-episode on Wednesday, October 7. It reimagines Stephen King’s novel by “exploring the forces that shape Carrie White as she navigates the cruelty and pressures of the modern world.” Summer H. Howell stars in the titular role of Carrie White.
As Prime Video reveals, “But Carrie’s story doesn’t stop at Prom – it’s far from over…much remains in store from Mike Flanagan and Stephen King, as new revelations will come to light, major character arcs, and plenty of shocking twists.”

The news also comes after Flanagan told Collider that he had a three-season vision for Carrie: “In my dream scenario, I think it’s three seasons. In my dream scenario, I think Carrie has a wonderful three-step arc. It’s a trilogy, really.”
With this renewal, Flanagan is one step closer to making that dream scenario a reality.
“For 50 years, audiences have known and gravitated to Carrie White’s story. From the beginning, we imagined a story that goes far beyond the prom, and I’m incredibly grateful for Stephen’s trust and support in exploring what comes next,” Mike Flanagan shared in a statement.
“I can’t wait for audiences to get to see what’s down the road for Carrie White. Mike Flanagan and I are excited about what comes next. It’s bound to be thrilling,” executive producer Stephen King said.

Flanagan and King will both return to be at the helm of Carrie‘s second season, produced by Amazon MGM Studios.
“Carrie is connecting with both longtime Stephen King fans and a new generation altogether — including young adults and international audiences, with particular strength among female viewers,” Peter Friedlander, Head of Global Television, Amazon MGM Studios, said.
“It speaks to the enduring power of this story and signals that Mike Flanagan’s reimagining of the iconic IP has real breadth. We’re excited by where he and Stephen plan to take the story,” Friedlander continued
Alongside Howell, Samantha Sloyan stars as Carrie’s “fiercely protective mother,” Margaret.

Carrie‘s series regulars also include Siena Agudong as Sue Snell, Alison Thornton as Chris Hargensen, Joel Oulette as Tommy Ross, Josie Totah as Tina, Arthur Conti as Billy, Thalia Dudek as Emaline, Amber Midthunder as Miss Desjardin, and Matthew Lillard as Principal Grayle.
The recurring cast includes Kate Siegel , Michael Trucco, Crystal Balint, Rahul Kohli, Tim Bagley, and Heather Graham.
Flanagan, Siegel, Axelle Carolyn, Kyra Sedgwick, and Hiromi Kamata directed the season.
