Doc Season 3 Episode 2 Preview: New Memories and New Conflicts
A terrible accident brings multiple critical patients to Westside on Doc Season 3 Episode 2, “Ready or Not.”
The Westside team has many new faces and people in new roles this season, but no one has much time to settle in. The hospital will need everyone ready to go when three members of the same family end up in their intensive care unit with critical injuries.
While everyone focuses on saving the patients, Amy also contends with a flood of new memories and the disruption they cause when they suddenly flash.
Some of those memories will no doubt involve Dr. Ben Grant, who has a past with Amy that she doesn’t remember. But that’s not the only thing complicating Amy’s relationship with Ben.
On “Ready or Not,” Ben and Amy will clash on how to treat their patients. Much of the clash feels like the kind we often see on medical shows between surgeons and internal medicine doctors.
Still, there seems to be more to this conflict than that. For some reason, Ben seems to be actively undermining Amy’s credibility. Whether that’s tied to what looks like a Machiavellian push to become the top dog at Westside or something to do with their past remains to be seen.
Whatever the reason, Amy not knowing about their past puts Amy at a pretty unfair disadvantage should this conflict continue beyond this medical crisis.
Notably, the promo includes a blink-and-you-miss-it moment teasing more information about a TJ storyline introduced in Doc Season 3 Episode 1, “Wherefore Art Thou.”
On “Wherefore Art Thou,” Amy had a flash of a memory with TJ that looked like Amy confronting him about some potential PTSD (remembering that TJ is a veteran). The promo for “Ready or Not” shows a split-second memory that looks like TJ attacking Amy.
Knowing that TJ almost certainly didn’t intentionally attack Amy, it is more likely related to the memory flash on “Wherefore Art Thou.”
