Krysten Ritter to Return for Dexter: Resurrection Season 2

Dexter: Resurrection, News

The upcoming second season of Dexter: Resurrection is bringing back at least one more familiar face from Season 1.

According to Deadline‘s exclusive report, which was corroborated by TV Insider, Krysten Ritter will be returning for Dexter: Resurrection Season 2.

Ritter appeared in Season 1 as Mia LaPierre/Lady Vengeance, one of the many serial killers gathered by the season’s primary villain Leon Prater (Peter Dinklage).

Hiding in plain sight as a wine sommelier, Mia was initially presented as a serial killer with a code in the vein of Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall) himself. However, this and her “Lady Vengeance” name turned out to be media sensationalism.

Mia was seemingly killed on Dexter: Resurrection Season 1 Episode 6, “Cats and Mouse.” It remains to be seen who Ritter will play in Season 2.

Notably, in the past, Dexter has brought back some late characters as hallucinations of Dexter’s.

Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 will also feature Hall returning as Dexter Morgan, as well as Uma Thurman as Charley Brown, former head of security for Leon Pater.

New cast members include Brian Cox (Succession) as serial killer the New York Ripper, Dan Stevens (Legion) as the Five Borough Killer, Bokeem Woodbine (Fargo) as Captain Mixon, and Nona Parker Johnson (Sugar) as Fiona Mixon.

Dexter: Resurrection is the second rebranded revival of the original Dexter series.

It continues from Dexter being shot by his son Harrison (Jack Alcott) in the finale of Dexter: New Blood

That ending was retconned into a nonlethal injury, with Dexter awakening from a coma at the beginning of Dexter: Resurrection. The show then shifted its setting to New York City.

The first season followed Dexter being drawn into Prater’s circle of serial killers. His former friend Angel Bastista (David Zayas) attempted to prove Dexter is the Bay Harbor Butcher serial killer. The show was confirmed to be renewed for a second season in October 2025.

Clyde Phillips, showrunner of the first four Dexter seasons and later Dexter: New Blood, returned for Dexter: Resurrection as showrunner and executive producer. Other executive producers include Hall, Lilly Burns, Tony Hernandez, Scott Reynolds, and Marcos Siega.

Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 is currently in development.

Dexter: Resurrection streams on Paramount+ with Showtime.
