Tracker Season 3 Episode 21 Review: Chrono Stasis

Reviews, Tracker

Colter teams up with his older brother, Russell, once again on Tracker Season 3 Episode 21, “Chrono Stasis,” in an attempt to uncover the truth about their father’s secret government project that ultimately led to his death.

The show’s penultimate episode of the season may not have much action, but the jaw-dropping revelations more than make up for it.

It is also nice to see Colter finally patch things up with his mother, Mary, after learning about her involvement in his father’s death on Tracker Season 2 Episode 20, “Echo Ridge.”

Ever since Colter learned the truth, he has distanced himself from his family, opting to focus on his work instead to avoid the inevitable confrontation with his mother.

Now, Colter is in a much better place and far more confident to face his mom, especially since Mary is now selling their Echo Ridge home.

When Colter and Mary reunite, it is a little rocky at first, but then their reunion becomes surprisingly much smoother and more successful than anyone could have anticipated.

It is not even disappointing that Colter patches things up quickly with his mother. After all, their conversation foreshadows shocking truths that Colter will find out once he and Russell find Dr. Serena Jukic.

Furthermore, Colter knows he has bigger fish to fry, and he’s ready to find Dr. Jukic and learn more about the secret government project in Alaska.

Tracker has suggested that Ashton’s Alaskan project may hold some dark mysteries, and “Chrono Stasis” finally dives into them.

At this point, the show could go in any direction, but it is quite telling that it ends up being about testing children with savant syndrome for American military purposes.

It is a bold narrative choice that explores how deeply corrupt some government factions are and the lengths they are willing to go to achieve their goals.

Colter and Russell learn that DARPA tortures young children and kills their parents. The organization will get rid of anyone who stands in their way, including those who voice just the slightest dissent.

Of course, Tracker is fictional, and nothing on screen is happening in real life. However, the show still takes the opportunity to draw attention to how powerful federal governments can be and how far they will go to abuse their power and hide the truth from the public.

“Chrono Stasis” quickly spirals after Colter and Russell decide to save the boy that Dr. Jukic grew attached to, Danny, but the episode ends on quite a cliffhanger.

Both Russell and Colter are in tight spots, and it will be significantly difficult for them to escape unscathed. It also does not help that a hitman is now tasked with targeting them.

It is unknown what will happen next, but it is still the perfect moment to end the episode.

Russell Shaw: No matter where we go, we keep coming back to this place, like an echo. Is that why they call it Echo Ridge?

Now, Tracker has set up a finale that will likely be action-packed with extremely high stakes since Colter and Russell’s lives are on the line. It is unknown how they will get out of this situation, and it is also possible that this storyline will conclude definitively on the season finale.

However, if there is more story left to tell about Ashton Shaw’s death and the months leading up to the event, it is most certainly welcome, especially if it is as intriguing as it has been so far.
