Tracker Season 3 Episode 19 Review: Chain of Custody
Reenie’s lawsuit against Praiter and Rockwell finally comes to a head on Tracker Season 3 Episode 19, “Chain of Custody.”
The narrative unfolds in the best and most unexpected way possible, making “Chain of Custody” one of the season’s best episodes.
This episode has every ingredient to conclude this storyline perfectly: astonishing plot twists, incredible character development, thrilling action, and tender relationship moments.

Maxine ends up having nothing to do with Praiter and Rockwell’s schemes, one of the most surprising revelations on “Chain of Custody.”
Since the show introduced Maxine on Tracker Season 3 Episode 11 “To the Bone,” the storyline has repeatedly suggested that she may have dubious and sinister intentions.
However, “Chain of Custody” finally reveals that she truly is just a hotshot lawyer who needs Reenie’s help for this lawsuit.
Reenie Greene: She said that life goes two ways: you’re either the painter, or you’re the paint. I made my choice. So did you. We choose who we are, you know?
The show uses Maxine as a red herring throughout Season 3 to maximize the shock regarding the truth behind Kurtis’ disappearance. It is a brilliant narrative choice that establishes intrigue and keeps the audience on edge.

Tracker raises the stakes when the head of the Dixie Mafia, Lowell, kidnaps Kurtis’ stepdaughter, Jackie.
“Chain of Custody” is already compelling before this turn of events, but once Lowell reveals that he has Jackie, the tension heightens significantly, making the episode even more exciting as Reenie, Colter, and Kurtis face off against the Dixie Mafia.
The actual showdown is epic from start to finish, as Colter races to save Kurtis and Jackie. It is exciting to see Colter infiltrate a mafia, even if it is only for a short time.
At some point, Jackie and Kurtis’ lives hang in the balance, which contributes to the episode’s excellent suspense. Thankfully, Colter saves the day just in time, as he usually does.
It is one of the show’s best climaxes and the ideal way to conclude the imminent danger of the conflict.

In addition to narrative tactics, Tracker also portrays excellent character development for Reenie.
Of course, Reenie always shines since she is usually an episode highlight. However, “Chain of Custody” takes her arc to the next level when she becomes vulnerable with Kurtis.
Reenie opens up about her difficult childhood, and it is shocking to learn that she was once the defendant in a robbery case. It seems so unlike Reenie to break the law for her own reckless entertainment, given how strong and put-together she is.
Nevertheless, Tracker has done an excellent job of portraying the cracks in Reenie’s armor, and this unexpected anecdote of her past helps to explain why she has a tough façade to begin with.
Reenie’s backstory illustrates how far she has come and also exemplifies why she is the show’s best character.

Tracker Season 3 Episode 19, “Chain of Custody,” ends on the most perfect note, with Colter teaching Reenie how to shoot.
Colter and Reenie’s interactions are worth looking forward to, especially since they do not get to see each other in person very often. However, when they do, their chemistry is absolute magic, no matter what the circumstances.
The final scene also demonstrates why Colter and Reenie would be so perfect together — they are like birds of a feather.
Both Colter and Reenie have troubled pasts and have learned to overcome significant obstacles. They both have tough exteriors and find it difficult to be vulnerable. Notably, they are unafraid of being vulnerable together.
It is evident that Colter and Reenie would do anything for each other, and it would be a great disservice to their dynamic if Tracker never pursued their relationship.
