Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 2 Premiere Date Announced by Netflix
Fans of the beloved cartoon Avatar: The Last Airbender have much to look forward to in 2026.
The animated film, Avatar: Aang, The Last Airbender, is set to debut on Paramount+ on Friday, October 9, and the second season of the live-action remake is coming as well.
According to Netflix’s Tudum, Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 2 will premiere on Thursday, June 25.
The season will adapt the second season of the animated Avatar: The Last Airbender, which aired on Nickelodeon from 2005 to 2008 across three seasons.
The second season, titled Book 2: Earth, shook up the series’ status quo in ways the live-action series appears to be following.
Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 2 will introduce Toph Beifong, a blind earthbending prodigy who joins the heroes to teach Avatar Aang (Gordon Comier) earthbending.
Fire Nation Princess Azula (Elizabeth Yue), a recurring character in Season 1, will also take on a larger role, per The Direct, as she begins hunting Team Avatar.

The main thrust of the original animated season was Team Avatar’s journey to the Earth Kingdom capital, Ba Sing Se. There, they hope to recruit help to end the war with the imperious Fire Nation.
Meanwhile, exiled Fire Nation Prince Zuko (played in live-action by Dallas Liu) goes on his own journey, external and internal.
Avatar: The Last Airbender has already been renewed for a third season, which will adapt the original series’ final season, Book Three: Fire.
According to Variety, the second and third live-action seasons were filmed back-to-back.

Other cast members of Avatar: The Last Airbender include Kiawentiio as Katara and Ian Ousley as Sokka, siblings from the Southern Water Tribe who join Aang on his journey in Season 1. Paul Sun-Hyung Lee stars as Zuko and Azula’s uncle, Iroh, as does Daniel Dae Kim as their ruthless father, Fire Lord Ozai.
Maria Zhang appears as Suki, leader of the all-women Kyoshi Warriors and a love interest of Sokka. Thalia Tran and Momona Tamada star as Azula’s companions, Mai and Ty Lee, respectively, who will join her in hunting the Avatar.
Showrunner Albert Kim stepped down from this position after Season 1, but remains attached as an executive producer. Executive producers Christine Boylan and Jabbar Raisani have stepped into his role for the rest of the series.
