Will Trent Season 4 Episode 6 Review: You’re Not That Person Anymore

Reviews, Will Trent

The complications of love sometimes lead to heartbreak or healing. This ideology comes across in Will Trent Season 4 Episode 6, “You’re Not That Person Anymore.” Faith falls for a criminal with a purpose.

Malcom isn’t this ruthless bank robber, but a grieving father. Faith loves him despite his deeds, but no happy ending exists here. She’s GBI, and he’s someone she must stop for the greater good.

In Will Trent Season 4 Episode 5, “Nice To Meet You, Malcolm,” the Faith and Malcolm romance feels rushed. We aren’t given enough time with them to truly care about the twist and Faith’s impending heartbreak.

However, “You’re Not That Person Anymore” rectifies this issue. Faith and Malcolm become doomed lovers who can never have a happy ending. This episode gives their relationship unexpected depth.

The love story of Malcolm and Faith becomes one of the great Will Trent tragedies. Faith became a character that the fans love. The series continues to push her to the forefront and expand her world.

Faith acts as a reminder that the series treats each one of its characters with the same level of respect and care. You never feel like the writers neglect one character.

Some occasionally get special treatment and an episode centered on their struggles. “You’re Not That Person Anymore” is one of the few episodes that focuses less on Will and more on the other characters.

Franklin and Ormewood even step in and act as the main support for Faith in this case. Franklin shines in Season 4. He’s become everyone’s favorite friend. When paired with Ormewood or Angie, he steps into a very comedic role.

Ormewood and Franklin continue this theme in the latest episode. However, they tone it down some to not detract from the devastating nature of Faith’s heartbreak. Franklin helps end Faith’s relationship while giving a new chapter to Angie.

Will Trent takes an unexpected direction by having Seth and Angie marry. They have been a very likable couple and a romance. Angie seems happiest with him.

However, “You’re Not That Person Anymore” solidifies the couple’s love with her speech. He’s the person who she needs and wants. She’s not settling or just marrying him because of the pregnancy.

She loves him deeply. This episode could have used Faith’s heartbreak to give her a moment with Ormewood, her likely future romantic pairing, but instead gives Faith and Will a moment.

He reassures her that eventually she will move on from Malcolm. It may seem impossible and hard right now, but it happens. He knows because that’s how he feels about Angie.

IANTHA RICHARDSON

He isn’t holding on to any lingering feelings. He’s happy for her. This is a smart move from Will Trent because it closes the Will and Angie chapter. It allows both to find a new love story.

Book readers know that Will has a longtime love interest who hasn’t been introduced in the TV show yet. This season may be leading up to that moment.

“You’re Not That Person Anymore” is all about the rollercoaster of love. The happy moments and heartbreak. It gives gravity to the previous episode.

It elevates Malcolm to an important piece to Faith’s story.
