The team’s latest investigation leads them towards potential evidence with much larger implications than they initially realize on NCIS: Sydney Season 3 Episode 3, “Lost in Translation.”
It seems like this episode goes back to the show’s tried-and-true procedural nature with a case of the week that isn’t directly tied to the characters. “Lost in Translation” follows the team finding Blue and the truth about her on NCIS: Sydney Season 3 Episode 2, “True Blue.”
Of course, that episode doesn’t reveal the total truth to all of the characters. JD and Mackey keep the Faith of it all to themselves.
“Lost in Translation” – L-R: Todd Lasance as AFP Liaison Officer Sergeant Jim ‘JD’ Dempsey, Olivia Swann as NCIS Special Agent Captain Michelle Mackey, Simone Kessell as Dayna Jasek, and William McInnes as Forensic Pathologist Dr. Roy Penrose in NCIS: Sydney episode 3, season 3 streaming on Paramount+, 2025. This episode’s promotional materials don’t reveal much about what’s next for Blue and her brother. Instead, “Lost in Translation” appears to focus on Blue returning to the team and finding Trigger with a handheld torch.
The NCIS: Sydney promo video also teases that Evie will have to set any apprehensions she may have about Trigger aside. She has to trust that he knows which wire is the right one to cut at the right time.
For more context, this episode sees the team search for a high-value U.S. target who has been accused of murdering an Australian soldier. However, things take a turn when their suspect claims to have evidence of a war crime.
So, it’s not entirely surprising that NCIS: Sydney is introducing Yellowjackets ‘ Simone Kessell as Dayna Jasek with the Australian Defence Force Investigative Service (ADFIS), per her hat.
