What to Expect from 9-1-1 Season 9 Episode 3: The Sky Is Falling
The space-themed premiere event continues as Athena and Hen try to get home safely on 9-1-1 Season 9 Episode 3, “The Sky Is Falling.”
The episode’s title doesn’t instill much faith in that mission. Neither does Tripp, who gives a press conference where he says that a rescue mission is impossible.
However, 9-1-1 fans know that Athena (and Hen) has been through a lot. Space is just another — albeit massive — hurdle, right? “The Sky Is Falling” is really putting that question to the test as Athena, Hen, and the other people on the Inara try to make it back to Earth.
The promo video shows Athena alerting the team about their quickly diminishing oxygen supply. Not to mention, they can’t get in contact with Tripp’s team back on the ground.
Plus, let’s not forget that Hen had to treat Parker’s pretty significant injuries after the chaos on 9-1-1 Season 9 Episode 2, “Spiraling.” There’s still hope to be had, though, as Athena tells the group, “We are in this together.”
Her daughter, May, is keeping the hope alive back at the station. In a sweet moment from the promo video, May tells Hen and Karen’s kids, Denny and Mara, “The one thing I know about our moms, they never give up.”
Meanwhile, the 118 will continue to respond to calls related to the geostorm and its debris. Maddie puts the event’s intensity into words by describing it as “raining fire.”
