The Paper Renewed for Season 2 Ahead of Series Premiere on Peacock
Peacock has renewed The Office spinoff series, The Paper, one day before it makes its series debut on Peacock.
All 10 episodes of the first season will be available to stream on Thursday, September 4. Previously, The Paper was set to have a four-episode debut and would then stream two episodes weekly until the season finale on September 25.
Stars Domhnall Gleeson and Sabrina Impacciatore announced the Season 2 renewal on NBC’s Today on Wednesday, September 3. Deadline reports that The Paper‘s early pickup also extends to Sky, which carries the comedy series exclusively in the UK and Ireland.

As previously reported, The Paper sees “the documentary crew that immortalized Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton branch” on The Office “find a new subject when they discover a historic Midwestern newspaper and the publisher trying to revive it.”
Alongside Gleeson and Impacciatore, the series stars Chelsea Frei, Melvin Gregg, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Alex Edelman, Ramona Young, and Tim Key. Oscar Nuñez reprises his role as Oscar Martinez from The Office.
As reported when Peacock ordered The Paper to series in May 2024, The Office‘s Greg Daniels and Nathan For You‘s Michael Koman serve as co-creators. Daniels also directed the pilot.
“According to a show rep, Daniels already has ideas in mind for Season 2, and this official go-ahead allows him to begin work now. The move also helps ensure that the series can return to screens this time next year, preventing too much of a gap in between seasons,” per TV Line.

“We definitely have ideas,” Daniels recently told Variety.
“We’ve been talking about stories for a possible Season 2, and it’ll be interesting to see what the audience thinks. We’ve gotten really good feedback from people inside the company and journalists and friends, but you never know what the broader world of Office fans are going to think of it,” Daniels continued.
Daniels executive produces under his banner, Deedle-Dee Productions. The Paper‘s executive producers also include Koman, Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant, Howard Klein, Ben Silverman, and Banijay Americas (formerly Reveille)
The show comes from Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group.
