Outlander: Blood of my Blood Season 1 Episode 8, “A Virtuous Woman,” puts Ellen and Brian’s bond to the test — literally.

At the request of Lovat, the Grants question Ellen’s purity and request that she undergo an incredibly revealing trial where her virginity status will be called into question.

Brian, desperate to save her from failing the test, enlists Julia’s help to intervene.

Meanwhile, the Grants continue to force Henry to work in their employ and ensure Ellen’s test goes smoothly ahead of her marriage to Malcolm.

When visions of his wife begin to plague him at the Mackenzies’ homestead, Henry worries he is losing himself to madness over Julia’s supposed death.

Little does he know that the results of this purity test will also help determine the fate of his marriage, now that Julia knows he is working with the Grants.
