Following a MacKenzie-heavy episode, Outlander: Blood of my Blood Season 1 Episode 4, “A Soldier’s Heart,” sets its sights back on the Beauchamps.

After Julia secures her future baby’s safety with Lovat, Brian approaches her with a proposition. If she can get a message to Ellen MacKenzie, he will help her escape his father’s clutches for good. After all, Brian is just as motivated to escape his father and reunite with his girl.

Worlds begin to collide as Julia journeys to Castle Leoch to meet the MacKenzie clan.

What Happened on the Previous Episode?

Previously on Outlander: Blood of my Blood, the new laird of the MacKenzie clan was chosen after an episode of deliberations. While Colum sold Ellen’s hand to the Grants and Dougal offered her hand to the Jacobites, Ellen crafted a plan to save her family from losing the Lairdship altogether. In the final deliberations, Colum and Dougal agree to share the duties of the title. Meanwhile, Julia, realizing her unborn child is at risk, makes the horrifying choice to sleep with Lord Lovat to secure her family’s safety.
