Mike Colter to Star in CBS’ ‘Cupertino’ from Robert and Michelle King
Robert and Michelle King are bringing another legal drama to CBS. Cupertino is in development at the network with Mike Colter set to star.
Deadline reports that Colter will portray “a lawyer fired by a Silicon Valley start-up intending to cheat him out of his stock options.”
“Refusing to back down, he joins forces with another recently fired attorney to represent those taken advantage of by the tech elite, and help them fight back in a high-stakes battle against the Goliaths controlling Silicon Valley.”

Colter and the Kings recently collaborated on the supernatural mystery series, Evil, which ran for four seasons. The first season aired on CBS, and its next three seasons streamed on Paramount+. Colter starred as David Acosta.
The actor previously worked with the Kings by appearing in the recurring role of Lemond Bishop on CBS’ The Good Wife and its spinoff series, The Good Fight.
As for the Kings’ new series, Deadline exclusively reported that Cupertino went into development at CBS in August 2024.
At the Upfronts in May 2025, CBS Entertainment President Amy Reisenbach shared that the network had ordered 12 scripts for the series after the pilot script received a positive response. Executive producers Robert and Michelle King penned Cupertino‘s pilot. Liz Glotzer is also set to executive produce the series.

“When we read the script for this David vs. Goliath legal series set in Silicon Valley, it was a no-brainer that we wanted to move forward with this show as part of our year-round development strategy,” Reisenbach said, per Deadline.
“It’s so prescient, so Kings-ian in the way it’s written, we can’t wait to dive into this room, which we will be starting soon,” Reisenbach continued.
TV Line reports that Cupertino is expected to premiere during the network’s 2026/2027 programming season, along with Einstein, starring Matthew Gray Gubler. As of reporting, CBS has not yet ordered the legal drama to series.
Meanwhile, the Kings’ crime thriller, Happy Face, starring Annaleigh Ashford and Dennis Quaid, was canceled after one season on Paramount+. Alternatively, the Kings’ latest The Good Wife spinoff series, Elsbeth, is set to premiere its third season on Thursday, October 17, at 10/9c on CBS.
