Wednesday Addams and her weird and eccentric family are heading back to Nevermore Academy in the newest trailer for Wednesday Season 2 Part 1!

Wednesday Season 2 has been split into two parts, both consisting of four episodes. Part 1 is set to release on Wednesday, August 6, while Part 2 is set to release on Wednesday, September 3.

While Netflix gave fans a few teases of what’s to come at this year’s TUDUM event, the official trailer showcases some peculiar storylines set in stone.

The trailer itself sees the return of Wednesday Addams as a hero at Nevermore Academy after defeating Ms. Thornhill on Wednesday Season 1 Episode 8, “A Murder of Woes.” However, ever since Wednesday took her leave of absence, things have changed.

According to Season 2’s synopsis, per The Hollywood Reporter, “Wednesday Addams, returns to prowl the Gothic halls of Nevermore Academy, where fresh foes and woes await.”

“This season, Wednesday must navigate family, friends, and old adversaries, propelling her into another year of delightfully dark and kooky mayhem. Armed with her signature razor-sharp wit and deadpan charm, Wednesday is also plunged into a new bone-chilling supernatural mystery.”

The Season 2 story is further revealed in the trailer. Wednesday has visions hinting that Enid Sinclair, her “best friend,” might die in the future. This is most likely due to the heavy focus on exploring the dynamic between Wednesday and Enid further.

“Wednesday definitely has to navigate a lot of relationships in Season 2, primarily with her mother and with Enid,” series co-creator Miles Millar told TUDUM.

“We really wanted to find some new obstacles for Wednesday. She thinks she has it all under control, and discovers that human interaction isn’t as easy as she thought.”

However, the daughter of the Addams family might not be the only one finding herself in a pickle. The Wednesday trailer also features the members of the Addams family, particularly with the introduction of the Addams family’s grandmother, Grandmama Hester Frump.

From the trailer, it looks like Hester wants Wednesday to stand out on her own amidst everything that’s happening between their family.

Morticia and Gomez are also embarking on some sort of mission of their own. Additionally, Pugsley seems to be playing a more important role in Wednesday’s investigation into the unknown.

Wednesday Season 2 stars Steve Buscemi, Joy Sunday, Luis Guzmán, Hunter Doohan, Billie Piper, Isaac Ordonez, Victor Dorobantu, Georgie Farmer, Moosa Mostafa, Evie Templeton, Owen Painter, Noah Taylor, and Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo.

Alfred Gough, Miles Millar, and executive producer Tim Burton will also be returning.
