The Pitt Season 1 Episode 14 Recap: The Aftermath
The team is officially into overtime as they reach hour fourteen on The Pitt Season 1 Episode 14, “8:00pm.” To make matters worse, things go awry as they start to run out of supplies once more.
The team keeps giving it their all, but Robby is nowhere to be found after breaking down at the end of The Pitt Season 1 Episode 13. Whitaker is the one that finds him, praying on the floor of the room that has caused him the most pain in the entire hospital.
Whitaker tries to give him a pep talk, but Robby rushes him out and is able to pull himself together and head back to the pitt. His facade does not hold as he is quick to snap at Gloria over her micro-managing.
Everyone is trying to get Robby to take a break, but there is simply no way for that to happen, given their current predicament.
The cursed word “quiet” is uttered as twelve minutes pass without a new patient, and they are able to bring some family members to see their loved ones. It is also revealed that David is not the shooter; the real perpetrator was found dead on the festival grounds.
Jake’s mother, Janey, arrives to get Jake and comforts Robby over his guilt for not being able to save Leah. Her words go over his head. Nothing can appease his feelings.

What snaps him back into action? A measles outbreak — just what the doctors ordered.
The mass casualty event has ended, no new patients are brought, and finally, there is a brief moment for them to reflect on what they witnessed. Santos, Whitakker, and Javadi are all exhausted and in shock that their first day ended up being one of the worst days in the ER’s history.
To add to an already terrible day, McKay is arrested for tampering with her ankle monitor after it kept going off while she was treating patients. Abbott and Dana try to stop her arrest, to no avail.
It’s infuriating to see this happening; she spent all day saving lives and didn’t violate the terms of her parole, and she is still arrested. This news won’t go over well with anyone else.
The Pitt handles the passing of time so well that it feels like we have been clocking in for a shift at the ER for the past fourteen weeks, or hours in The Pitt world.
The dread of an hour not going by fast enough or that it passes too quickly has never been represented more accurately.
From watching the past few episodes dealing with the aftermath from PittFest, it feels to me that they have gone by faster than the first few. This makes sense, considering how much adrenaline is going around.
There is only one episode left of the season. It’s going to be rough to say goodbye to this show, but the day-shift medical team needs to finally go home.
