Previews, Wild Cards

Wild Cards Season 2 Episode 6, “Séance and Sensibility,” channels a bit of Riverdale and Knives Out with Max and Ellis’s latest investigation.

After a few episodes of less teamwork, the dynamic duo is back on a case.

The last time Max and Ellis worked a case together was on Wild Cards Season 2 Episode 3, “The Lorne Identity.” Ever since, the show has been shaking up its usual formula with fun results. Max’s ankle injury means she teams up with Yates while Ellis revives his partnership with Simmons on Wild Cards Season 2 Episode 4, “Dial A for Alibi.”

Then, Max works most of the case at the tennis club with her childhood best friend Maddy — and Ellis — on Wild Cards Season 2 Episode 5, “Catch Me If You Con.”

“Séance and Sensibility” brings Max and Ellis back to their roots to investigate a murder among an eccentric family. The hook is that everyone is a suspect and there’s a significant financial motivator for the person’s death.

That’s where the Knives Out vibes come into Wild Cards. But what about Riverdale? Well, Max takes on a psychic undercover persona and holds a séance to summon the true killer among the family members.

Meanwhile, the photos for “Séance and Sensibility” tease that Ellis will work with Olive, the coroner, again, and Max will likely watch more of Jonathan Ashford’s tapes, as Martin Sheen reprises his guest role once more.

Here’s everything you need to know, including the air date, cast, promo, and how to watch.
