Doctor Who Season 2 Premiere Date Announced by BBC and Disney+
The highly-anticipated second season of Doctor Who will premiere this April.
Doctor Who Season 2 premieres on Saturday, April 12, at 12:00 a.m. PDT / 3:00 a.m. EDT on Disney+. The new season will air exclusively on the BBC and BBC iPlayer in the UK. The eight-part season will release new episodes weekly.
The upcoming season of the long-running sci-fi series will feature an exciting new adventure, with Ncuti Gatwa returning as the Fifteenth Doctor.

He will be joined on this journey by Varada Sethu, who plays Belinda Chandra, and Millie Gibson, who portrays Ruby Sunday.
This season promises thrilling storylines, unexpected twists, and the return of a beloved guest star.
Emmy Award-winning actor Alan Cumming (The Traitors) will make a guest appearance in the second episode as Mr. Ring-a-Ding, “a seemingly cheerful, singalong cartoon character who resides in Sunny Town alongside his friend, Sunshine Sally.”
“However, in 1952, after years of his animated antics playing in cinemas across the country, Mr. Ring-a-Ding gains the ability to look beyond the screen — and the consequences are terrifying,” per Disney+.

This marks Cumming’s return to the Doctor Who universe, having previously portrayed King James I in a 2018 episode.
Showrunner, executive producer, and writer Russell T Davies expressed his enthusiasm about Cumming’s involvement, stating, “Only Alan Cumming could give a runaway cartoon so much wit, malice, danger, and fun.
“He makes the whole universe of Doctor Who wilder and madder than ever, and it’s an absolute honour to welcome him on board the TARDIS,” Davies continued.
This season’s storyline follows the Doctor as he meets Belinda Chandra and embarks on an epic quest to return her to Earth.

However, an unknown force prevents their return, leading the TARDIS team into encounters with immense dangers, formidable foes, and terrifying mysteries.
The new season will feature an impressive guest cast, including Rose Ayling-Ellis, Christopher Chung, Anita Dobson, Michelle Greenidge, Jonah Hauer-King, Ruth Madeley, Jemma Redgrave, and Susan Twist.
The latest incarnation of Doctor Who, played by Ncuti Gatwa, continues the legacy of adventure, time travel, and battling iconic foes like the Daleks and the Cybermen.
