Preview — 9-1-1 Season 8 Episode 6: The 118 Takes a Trip Down Memory Lane
After a two-week hiatus, the 118 returns with a trip down memory lane on 9-1-1 Season 8 Episode 6, “Confessions,” and all signs point to Eddie Diaz.
Both calls — one being a child stuck in a pipe, the other being a man coping with a divorce — featured in the episode’s description, photos, and promo video connect to Eddie’s past, present, and presumably future. At least, “Confessions” can make those parallels if it wants, and it seems like it will with one call.
On 9-1-1 Season 3 Episode 15, “Eddie Begins,” Eddie rescues a child stuck in a well. The near-death experience, which Eddie and the child survive, causes Eddie to reflect on when he first enlisted in the military.

Now, four years later, Eddie could be in a similar situation trying to help another toddler. Although, a well and a pipe aren’t quite the same. Bobby reminds Eddie of this by saying, “I don’t think you’re gonna fit this time.” The promo video for “Confessions” sees the child’s big brother taking Eddie’s spot.
The team will also respond to a call at a law firm where a couple’s divorce takes a turn. The only member of the 118 who has been through a divorce is Eddie, so there is a high likelihood that the old wounds 9-1-1 opens are his.
Since he is still reeling from his relationship with Shannon (Cheating on his girlfriend to date his dead wife’s doppelganger kind of gives that away), “Confessions” could lead to a massive breakthrough for Eddie. Hopefully, all will be revealed when 9-1-1 returns on Thursday, November 7, at 8/7c.
