Elsbeth shakes things up a bit as a former child star’s wild night leads to a Halloween investigation.
Elsbeth episodes generally start with a murder and Elsbeth zeroing in on a suspect who pretends to be innocent until Elsbeth proves otherwise. “Devil’s Night” flips the script on that format.
Rather than a person trying to evade suspicion, Mac, a former child star played by guest star Brittany O’Grady, goes to Elsbeth claiming she thinks she might have committed a murder.
Instead of proving someone’s guilt, Elsbeth must hopefully prove Mac’s innocence. And, of course, in the process, find out who the real murderer is.
“Devil’s Night” also looks to be a particularly fun episode, taking full advantage of its air date being Halloween. The preview material promises plenty of spooky touches throughout the hour. Most notably, Elsbeth investigates the case dressed as Holly Golightly from Breakfast at Tiffany’s.
It’s not all fun and games on “Devil’s Night,” though. The precinct is still dealing with the fallout from Noonan’s scandal, which is leading to low morale among the officers and other staff. Captain Wagner must deal with this as the precinct’s leader.
Is anyone else hoping that part of his plan for addressing the low morale involves a swinging Halloween party?
