After Voight’s near-death experience and Upton’s departure, fans can’t help but wonder what the show’s dynamics will look like on Chicago P.D. Season 12 Episode 1, “Ten Ninety-Nine.” Is Voight still capable of doing his job? Above all, can he still lead a team like the Intelligence Unit?

The new season picks up a month after Voight’s encounter with a serial killer. The unit is extremely overwhelmed by new cases, and its focus is now centered around a high-stakes drug bust. Will Voight be up for the challenge?

Chicago P.D. Season 11 had a very specific formula: every episode centered around one particular team member. This worked, for the most part, because it allowed viewers to get an insight into different characters and better understand their current situations outside of work.
