Dream Productions: ‘Inside Out’ Spinoff Series Sets Premiere Date on Disney+
The world of Inside Out is expanding with more than new emotions this year.
Dream Productions, a spinoff series set in the world of the movies, will premiere on Wednesday, December 11, on Disney+.
All four episodes of the limited series will stream on the day of its launch.

Dream Productions takes place between Inside Out (2015) and Inside Out 2 (2024), which both follow a young girl named Riley and her emotions as she comes of age. The latter launches on Disney+ on Wednesday, September 25.
This mockumentary-style series is “about the studio inside Riley’s mind where dreams really do come true—every night, on time and on budget. Riley is growing up and when her memories need some extra processing, Joy and the rest of the Core Emotions send them to Dream Productions,” per its description.
Paula Pell voices acclaimed director Paula Persimmon, who faces the nightmare of trying to create Riley’s next hit dream. Paula must work with Xeni (voice of Richard Ayoade), “a smug daydream director looking to step up into the big leagues of night dreams.”
Dream Productions‘s cast includes the voices of Amy Poehler, Maya Rudolph, Ally Maki, Kensington Tallman, Liza Lapira, Tony Hale, Lewis Black, and Phyllis Smith. The series is written and directed by Mike Jones and produced by Jaclyn Simon.

Dream Productions is one of two new series from Pixar Animation Studios coming to Disney+. The other is Win or Lose, which, per its logline, “reveals what it actually feels like to be in the shoes of eight different characters in the week leading up to the big game.”
Win or Lose will roll out its eight-episode season beginning on Wednesday, February 19, 2025.
“These two series really show Pixar creativity at its finest,” Chief Creative Officer Pete Docter said.
“We’re excited fans won’t have to wait long for more great content from the world of Inside Out. Dream Productions offers up a treasure trove of jokes and fun as it digs deeper into one of our favorite parts of the first film, the making of Riley’s dreams,” Docter added.

“And we consider Win or Lose a major, first-of-its-kind tentpole series, one that really showcases what I think makes our studio great: bold, imaginative storytelling; laugh-out-loud humor; and characters that we can all relate to,” Docter concluded.
Win or Lose will follow a new character in each of its episodes, including “insecure kids, their helicopter parents, even a lovesick umpire.”
The series promises “incredibly funny, very emotional, and uniquely animated perspectives.”
Win or Lose features the voice of Will Forte as the coach. The series is directed, written, and executive produced by Carrie Hobson and Michael Yates, and produced by David Lally.
