Betty La Fea The Story Continues Season 1 Episodes 3 and 4 Review: Betty, The President / Armando Dismantled
A key to a companion or sequel series is reestablishing a world while introducing new problems. Betty La Fea, The Story Continues Season 1 Episode 3, “Betty, The President,” and Betty La Fea, The Story Continues Season 1 Episode 4, “Armando Dismantled” help continue to refamiliarize us with Betty’s world.
These two episodes also do enough to transition our focus to the next chapters. Mila, Betty, and Armando remain at the center. Betty and Armando continue to be as dynamic and fascinating as ever, so Mila must prove herself, in the Ecomoda world and to the viewers.

She hasn’t completely won us over but does enough to make us care about her beyond being Betty and Armando’s nepo baby.
Armando’s struggles to repair his mistakes, in his marriage and company, are the focal point of “Betty, The President” and “Armando Dismantled.” This version of him is sympathetic. He doesn’t seem conniving, but someone whose intentions are good.
Armando is misunderstood and makes some miscalculations.
Betty La Fea, The Story Continues talks about the pandemic impactfully. It isn’t shying away from showing how it continues to hurt this business.
However, it’s also not making it too focal where it may stress out the audience who don’t like the pandemic being incorporated in modern television.

Mentioning the pandemic makes the story seem more real. Businesses have been harmed and continue to deal with its repercussions, so it’s nice to see Betty La Fea, The Story Continues highlight this meaningfully.
If only other shows could include the pandemic naturally and respectfully address it for those who experienced financial and personal losses.
The show’s sentimentality and heart give Betty its appeal. Audiences will fully invest in Mila and Betty’s reconciliation.
Their relationship makes you more interested in Mila as a character. You want this broken mother-and-daughter repaired.
Mila becomes likable when she’s not being a brat to her mother.

Additionally, characters like Hugo are unlikeable, but then he has a kind and sincere moment with Jeff that pulls on the heartstrings. Little moments like that with disagreeable characters make the show more heartwarming than some similar comedies.
Some of these characters are horrible nine times out of ten, but it’s the one time they’re not that makes you care about them.
“Betty, The President” and “Armando Dismantled” also begin setting up at least three sets of love triangles. Mila, Nacho, and Jeff (which is more of a square since Jeff has a girlfriend) and Esteban, Armando, and Betty (also could be considered a square if Armando shows any interest in Maria) are the key ones.
Esteban, Armando, and Betty’s love triangle is the more captivating romantic entanglement. Esteban seems genuinely attracted to Betty without ulterior motives. He also seems like a good match for her.
However, we all know that Armando and Betty’s romantic reunion is the end goal. It’s no other possibility.

Therefore, we cannot invest in Esteban and Betty’s potential romance, but, it could have been interesting to watch. The chemistry is there.
Mila, Nacho, and Jeff’s love triangle has the potential to be more interesting, but it also seems clear now that Nacho’s interest may be rooted in his whole shady plan. Jeff and Mila seem to be the show’s main goal. That’s not great for his girlfriend, who is clearly about to become just an obstacle to the inevitable Mila and Jeff romance.
“Betty, the President” and “Armando Dismantled” are solid episodes in the Betty La Fea, The Story Continues saga. We just wish Prime Video treated it like a classic telenovela with daily episodes instead of weekly.
That would really capitalize on the already nostalgic feel of it.
