A First Look at ‘Unstable’ Season 2 on Netflix
After a long hiatus and some debate over whether the show would return at all, Unstable Season 2 brings us back to the complicated, somewhat twisted world of Ellis Dragon and his son Jackson.
We certainly hope their characters’ antics don’t directly reflect the true relationship of this real-life father and son, because while the two seem to have grown a little in their capacity to support each other, some things never change.
You may recall that when we last saw Ellis, he was setting fire to the car of Jean, a friend of his late wife who betrayed his bid to save his company. It should come as no surprise that this second outing again has the company’s future in doubt.
After a season spent watching his father heal from loss through such questionable methods as inventing absurd devices and holding his therapist hostage, Jackson is still willing to step in as a new leader at Dragon– a sign of that mentioned progress.
Unfortunately, the powers that be have yet to stop threatening this company structure. Of several characters introduced in the second season’s trailer, one is Peter, who is being pushed to make his own bid for the role of CEO.
We don’t yet see any mention of the romantic entanglements that also made the first season so chaotic, but there’s no doubt they’ll rise again along with everything else that makes these characters both lovable and mildly terrifying.
